Sirkan (Persian: سيركان)^[a] is a city in, and the capital of, Bam Pasht District of Saravan County, Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran.^[3] It also serves as the administrative center for Bam Pasht Rural District.^[4]

Demographics

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 1,347 in 284 households.^[5] The following census in 2011 counted 1,499 people in 349 households.^[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 2,196 people in 557 households.^[7]

Overview

People in Sirkan do not have access to freshwater.^[8]

Education

Sirkan is regarded as one of the most underdeveloped regions in Iran, but the students have shown unexpected performance in the Iranian University Entrance Exam.^{[citation needed]}
