== Early life ==
Vasilevich was born on April 9, 1997, in [[Minsk]] in a family of a soldier and a kindergarten teacher.

After graduating from high school in 2014, she entered the [[Belarusian State University]] of Economics, where she studied at the Faculty of Public Administration, Management and Economics. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Public Administration in 2018, and also earned a master's degree in Economics.

== Career ==
She worked as a business development specialist for TDI Promoivent LLC (advertising agency).

She worked as an editor of the main directorate of TV program preparation of the General Production Center of the Belteleradiocompany.

Vasilevich worked as a presenter on the program ''Dobra Ranitsy'', on Belarus 1! However, Maria quickly realized that the format set by the script did not satisfy her ambitions.

Then Vasilevich began her career as a fashion model. The beauty and harmonious parameters of 86-60-90 opened the way for Maria to enter the modeling business. She began to earn money at age 18, but at first refused to participate in beauty contests. However, at the age of 21, Maria changed her mind and came to the national competition, where she unexpectedly took the crown. This event gave an impetus to fame and promotion on the career ladder.

In December 2018, Vasilevich went to China, where she came third globally and the best from Europe, receiving the title of "Miss World Europe".

On January 8, 2019, she was awarded her the prize "For Spiritual Revival" — "for a significant contribution to the development of international cultural cooperation and active charitable activities".

On February 12, 2019, she became the star ambassador of the Second European Games 2019.

In the fall of 2019, Vasilevich was nominated as a candidate from the 104th Kalvari electoral district of Minsk. The head of the Central Election Commission Yemoshina stated that the 22-year-old girl has nothing to go to the people with. The president reproached Yermoshina, stating that the future belongs to young people.

Vasilevich won the seat, receiving the fewest votes of any district – 28.94%. Maria said that she considers age to be an advantage, as she is full of determination, responsibility, creativity and courage. Vasilevich said that she plans to ensure that the activities of the Belarusian Parliament become more open and public, this will help to achieve effective cooperation between the people and the government. She improvement of the education system, systematization, and updating laws. She insisted that "it is necessary to refuse to discuss these problems only in high offices."

She is the youngest member of the House of Representatives. She is a member of the Permanent Commission on Human Rights, National Relations, and the Media, as well as a member of the permanent working groups of the National Assembly for cooperation with the Parliaments of Belgium, Brunei, India, Poland, and Saudi Arabia.

In 2020, Belarus was gripped by protests. They began during the election campaigns and escalated in August, when thousands of outraged citizens took to the streets to express their dissatisfaction with the results of the presidential election. They refused to recognize the legitimacy of the next election of Lukashenko, which resulted in mass riots. On August 13, 2020, Vasilevich attracted the attention of the media and the blogosphere with her appeal to Instagram followers to stop violence on the streets during protests against the current government.
