==Background and recording==

“The Mixtape EP” is a compilation of three different recording and production sessions the band went through over the course of a year. The band explained in a post on their [[Official]] [[Facebook]]: "''Some of us in the band are old enough to remember mixtapes. For those who don’t, they were awesome. Making your own “greatest hits” to somehow indoctrinate your pals into liking a band as much as you do!"''

“Thieves”, “The Fever Syndrome”, and “Dressed In Ice (Feat. “I Don’t Wanna Be Me” is a cover tribute to [[Peter Steele]] and the members of [[Type O Negative]]. Mixed, produced, and mastered by [[Daniel Antonsson]] ([[Soilwork]], [[Dark Tranquillity]], [[Dimension Zero (Swedish band)|Dimension Zero]]) at Gothenburg Rock Studio in [[Göteborg]], [[Sweden]].

The final track on the EP, “[[Descent (song)|Descent]]”, is a cover tribute to modern metal pioneers [[Fear Factory]]. It was mixed and engineered by bassist Nicholas Ziros ([[Meridian Dawn]], [[Into The Moat]], [[Remembering Never]]) and mastered by Jeff Cloyes ([[311 (band)|311]], [[Lauryn Hill]], [[Plies (rapper)|Plies]]) at JamPro Music Factory located in [[Reno]], [[Nevada]] [[USA]].
