Most people who live in Sanjurge are old men and women because a lot of its population immigrated to the United States and France in the late 1970s, early 1980s. The majority of Sanjurge's inhabitants cultivate their own fruits and vegetables, raise their own ducks, chickens, and small animals and go into the main city to buy the rest of their everyday needs. There are only two coffee shops and one bar located in the center of this small village. There is also a single classroom school and recreation center a block or two from the center. |

Almost one hundred percent of Sanjurge's citizens are Catholics, because of this you can find the majority of the people in this ancient chapel. It is located in the center of Sanjurge and was constructed in the 15th or 16th century. In 1972 a fire destroyed more than half of the church, was rebuilt shortly after. |
