This article was written by Studdymx, who, by their own admission, is the owner of the inn. This could be seen as a conflict of interest, but won't necessarily be if wikipedia guidelines are followed. Mostly, it you can establish why the Black Boy Inn is notable enough to warrant a wikipedia article and provide external resources, I think it would meet the standards. Nothing that you've written thus far crosses the line and makes this seem like an advertisement (which would not be tolerated). I'd advise doing some more research and describing why the inn is notable, as well as the history of the area, and I think there's a good chance your article will meet the standards and be kept. In this case, I think it was fair of you to disclose your relationship to the article's subject. Just make sure you don't turn the article in the direction of sounding like an sdvertisement as that would surely be a conflict of interest. If you need help sorting this out, let me know. Thank you.Hananekosan (talk) 02:21, 21 August 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Studdymx (talk • contribs)

The Black Boy Inn has been called the Black Boy for over 250 years... read references as confirmation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Studdymx (talk • contribs) 23:33, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

I think it is notable that there are other Black Boy Taverns in the UK and in Wales. I woudl guess they refere to the rich having a blackboy as a servant http://www.educationscotland.gov.uk/abolition/servantsinscotland/index.asp
Slavery did not exist in the UK, so officially once a person set foot on Albion they were free. this is half captured in the idea that the blackboy was on a ship. But the fact that it was named 250yrs agon and not 350 or 500 suggets that it was during the time when fine service woudl be had from a Blackboy, as such service would be found at the richest seats in the land. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.33.10.108 (talk) 20:24, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
