“The unique diversity in my genetics made me look at all countries, races and peoples through lenses of affection and compassion. Thus, I broadened my perspectives as to self-elevate and rise above bias against and fundamentalism for any ethnic, ideology or nation. We are all human beings working with the same universe energy pool that God created in us. So I’m an Arabic and Eastern mixture, and this is nice. However, my first and ultimate pertinence is to the humanity wherever it exists.” |

Nesreen is the youngest of seven siblings. She moved to the Syrian capital city, Damascus, in 1999 to start her creative journey academically at the High Institute for Theatrical Arts in Damascus. She’s learned from the best instructors at the institute, which is considered one of the most important and established dramatic arts academies in the Arabic world. Among its prominent instructors with renowned names are: Jamal Suliman, Daleh Mamdouh Al-Rahbi, Ghassan Massoud and Fayez Kazak. |
|||
==First works== |
|||
Nesreen has started her artistic path with big names; after a small experience the first year at the institute with the series Holako directed by Basil Al Khatib, she’s got the golden opportunity to launch her genuine career and actual reputation. It was an occasion to work along with great art makers in the series Rabia Cortoba (Cordoba’s spring.) She played the lead female role with the character of sultan Subeh, wife of Caliph Al-Hakam.) |

She graduated from the [[Higher Institute for Dramatic Arts]] in Damascus in 2008.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://archive.aawsat.com/details.asp?section=25&article=252180&issueno=9404#.WvA-C4iFNPa|title=من طالبة جامعية إلى بطولة أضخم عمل تاريخي عربي|work=Asharq Al-Awsat|language=Arabic|date=August 27, 2004}}</ref> Nesreen is considered a Syrian actress, yet she only has Algerian nationality.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.masrawy.com/arts/zoom/details/2019/10/12/1650673/نسرين-طافش-أنا-مؤمنة-بسوريتي-حتى-لو-ما-عندي-جنسية-|title=نسرين طافش: "أنا مؤمنة بسوريتي حتى لو ما عندي جنسية"|website=masrawy.com|language=Arabic|date=October 12, 2019}}</ref> |

The work was directed by the renowned Hatem Ali and written by the great writer Dr. Walid Saif. She stood before her then instructor Jamal Suliman playing the Caliph Al-Hakam, and she turned heads with her exquisite performance when she was still a second-year student at the Institute of Theatrical Arts. Since then, she’s been swarmed with offers that took her away temporarily from her studies. She accomplished significant roles and later went back to finish her studies quitting acting for two years. She graduated from the institute in 2008 and resumed her creative journey. |

The magazine was a hit and distributed in Syria and Lebanon before it stopped at her peak due to the agonized events in Syria. The articles and features triggered enticement and positive energy. She’s meticulously chosen the magazine’s motto based on her belief in women’s causes in the Arabic society. She sensed her role is to awake and encourage women to achieve happiness and success under the slogan (Youthful, Modern and Invigorated.) |

Nesreen Tafesh (Arabic: نسرين طافش; born February 15, 1982)[1] is an Algerian-Palestinian actress and singer born in Syria.
Early life
[edit]Nesreen was born in Aleppo, Syria to the Palestinian poet and author Yousef Tafesh from Safed and an Algerian mother.[2][3][4] She has seven sisters and her maternal grandmother is of Moroccan descent.
She graduated from the Higher Institute for Dramatic Arts in Damascus in 2008.[5] Nesreen is considered a Syrian actress, yet she only has Algerian nationality.[6]
Career
[edit]Nesreen's first act ever was in a biography series about Hulagu Khan when she was still studying at the Higher Institute for Dramatic Arts.[7][8] Afterward, she worked in the series (Arabic: ربيع قرطبة, lit. 'Córdoba's Spring'), playing the lead female role of Subh, wife of Caliph Al-Hakam II. The work was written by Walid Saif.[9] In 2017, she started singing by releasing the single "Metghayar Alayi".[10]
She used to live in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before she moved to Egypt in late 2018, in which she acted in the film (Arabic: نادي الرجال السري, lit. 'The Secret Men Club').[11]
Personal life
[edit]While still in college, she was briefly engaged to the Syrian movie and TV director of Palestinian origin, Al-Mothanna Sobah.[12][13] She was married to an Emirati businessman from 2008 to 2013.[14] In July 2022, she announced her marriage with Egyptian dentist Sherif Sharkawy;[15] however, the marriage only lasted for five months.[16]
Controversy
[edit]In 2014, Dima Bayaa, actress and co-worker at Sabaya, exposed Tafesh's affair with her ex-husband Taim Hasan, calling her a "homewrecker."[17] This led to a lawsuit, and Dima was fined $1,300 by a Dubai court for defamation.[18]
On January 30, 2023, the Public Prosecution assigned Tafesh to the Sheikh Zayed District Office of Giza Governorate for issuing a bad check worth LE4 million. In October of that year, the Misdemeanor Court of the South Giza Court upheld the initial verdict of a three-year jail sentence, rejecting her appeal.[19] On May 8, 2024, Tafesh managed to settle the dispute by paying the entire amount in cash.[20]
