FYI, the article News Channel 3 Knowledge Bowl has been proposed for deletion (WP:PROD). The first sentences summarize the subject this way:

"News Channel 3 Knowledge Bowl is a quiz bowl program created by WREG-TV in Memphis, Tennessee. It first aired in 1987 for the 1987–88 school year. The format is similar to a quiz show, in which teams come from 32 high schools around the Mid-South to participate.

The nominator wrote this summary of their concerns:

-I would actually dispute that the primary topic of ''Memphis'' is Memphis, Tennessee. For non-Americans, I don't think this is a well-known city at all. I always knew Memphis exclusively as the ancient capital of Egypt until around the middle of high school which was when I first heard that there was a city in Tennessee by that name. Obviously people's experiences will differ depending on what subjects they're interested in. Someone fascinated by world history would more likely think of Memphis, Egypt while someone fascinated by American music and the politics might hear of Memphis, Tennessee first. I would argue that there is no primary topic for ''Memphis''; I don't think Memphis is that well-known at all outside the United States. Even as a Californian, I almost never hear of this place and more often hear of Memphis, Egypt as one might talk of ancient Rome, Chang'an, or Kyoto. This is not to downplay the significance of Memphis, Tennessee as the site of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s assassination or its role in the Civil Rights Movement, only that I am skeptical of its global notability.
