I have no idea what this means. Was it a joke? Was he having a dig at French? At Carey? Was it a mistake? Is it even true? It's too loaded a remark to leave in without any explanation. sjorford →•← 12:52, 11 August 2005 (UTC)

Greenpeace
I'm pretty certain that in the very early 1990s or late 1980s, Dawn French took part in an education/propaganda video for Greenpeace. She narrated a claymation earth (and had part of her face superimposed on it) as it morphed through various guises being deforested and polluted. I don't know if this has any relevance for the article ... I just stopped here as I am looking to see if the video is still available anywhere and google pointed me here. --Candy (talk) 17:12, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

It says in the article that French met David Smyth after studying for a while in New York. She actually met him at a party in Liskeard, before she went to New York. She says this in her new book, 'Dear Fatty'.

How can Dawn be an 'English' actress when she was born in Wales?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.222.146.162 (talk) 06:39, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

: It's not like the case where anyone born in the USA is an American citizen whether they like it or not. Wales, England, Scotland and Northern Ireland are not sovereign nations. Citizens of the United Kingdom decide for themselves whether they're to be regarded as British or English or Scottish or Welsh or Irish or some combination thereof. It has very little to do with where one happens to be born. Her Mum might have been on a day trip to Bangor for all we know.

: I've altered your header "Dawn", btw, as everything on this page is by definition about Dawn French, so "Dawn" tells us precisely nothing about the subject of this thread. -- Jack of Oz [[User talk:JackofOz#top|[pleasantries]]] 07:02, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

::So who decided she was English? I don't see a source there. Also, UK citizens don't get to decide if they're British or not – they just are, otherwise they're not citizens of the UK. The English / Scottish / Welsh / Northern Irish aspect is entirely arbitrary and should be sourced on British BLPs, or just left as 'British'. Peters

[edit]

Why does the 'Personal Life' section list her husband as being Andi Peters?

CBE?

[edit]

Dawn French CBE? Deleted this as she turned down the OBE a few years ago.

Image of Dawn French

The image is fabulous, I hope that it is kept for a while. She looks really pretty :)

It says in the article that French met David Smyth after studying for a while in New York. She actually met him at a party in Liskeard, before she went to New York. She says this in her new book, 'Dear Fatty'.
