Early life

Stefanie Peti was born in Montevideo (Uruguay). She grew up in Barcelona

By age 5, she already knew she wanted to be an actress and she first started acting at the kid’s TV Shows Sunday morning, then she started acting in commercials. She got her first part at age 13 and took acting classes as well at the theatre in Barcelona. She was raised as a Catholic and she has three siblings.

Biography

She is a method actress, producer, screenwriter and humanitarian. Born into a family of both European and Latin American descent, she was raised between Spain and Uruguay. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and is fluent in Catalan, Italian and Portuguese. After graduating from high school, her talent and determination led her to the Belles Arts at the University of Barcelona. Soon after completing her degree she started to work internationally in several advertising campaigns and commercials.

In 2015, Stefanie moved to Los Angeles, after getting an scholarship of 70% from her university to going to studying at the worldwide renowned “Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute”. Later she continued to hone her craft on the Stanislavski method this time studying at “Stella Adler studio of acting”, and finish her studies at the “Ivana Chubbuck Studio” in Hollywood.

She has appeared in the leading role of Sofia Rojas, an FBI agent, on the family crime drama “Sangre Negra” on Amazon Prime. She has also appeared in multiple films and features such as Love Sonia, Oh boy! This is how I lost my virginity, Ballers, Criminal Minds, Exorcism, Date, Out of the blue, Minx and more.

Stefanie is inspired by the people and places she has come to know through her extensive global travels and has furthered her understanding and compassion for people of all cultures. Said understanding can be seen in every one of her roles. She has lived in seven countries and visited nearly seventy others; as well as by art history, contemporary art, literature, and poetry.

Poetry has an important role in her life, because that’s where she finds her true inspiration to create character, writing and paintings.

Philanthropy

Stefanie has traveled on humanitarian AID missions to Africa several times and continues to work hard with some other international organizations that advocate for children’s education and advocates on behalf of eradicating child sexual abuse and trafficking.

At the moment, Stefanie is actively working in Eastern Africa with two organizations that work with children who have been suppressed by extreme poverty.

The World of Children, is an organization that was assembled to eradicate sexual abuse, children trafficking and prioritizes on the well-being and safety of young girls while leading the fight against female genital mutilation and childhood marriage.

AMREF, is an organization that focuses on the infant’s critical health issues like diabetes, HIV, TB, malaria, cholera and the struggle to access to clean water.

She understood at very early age the importance and responsibilities of collaboration and fight for the basic rights and well-being of the neediest children. So, she is always seeker projects that give voice to the voiceless and opportunities for those who lack them.
