Mundayur Mahadeva Temple (Malayalam: മുണ്ടയൂർ മഹാദേവർ ക്ഷേത്രം) is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva at Anjur of Thrissur District in Kerala state in India.[1] The temple is situated near to SH-69 (Thrissur - Kuttippuram road) at Mundayur village.[2] The presiding deity of the temple is Shiva, located in main Sanctum Sanctorum, facing East. According to folklore, sage Parashurama has installed the idol of Lord Shiva.[3] It is the part of the 108 Shiva Temples of Kerala.[4][5][6] Kozhikode Zamorin's army meditated on the Lord Shiva of Mundayur Temple and went out to battle. It was because such a practice was presumed that Lord Shiva of Mundayur saved them.[7]
