Article titles

Re: merging John Davidson (popular singer) and John Davidson (game show host);

I don't really like either of the titles. He has hosted variety programs in addition to game shows, and has also been an actor. Suggestions? Fan-1967 16:50, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't think of that one, but I think it's a good choice. I just checked the DAB page and the others are a poet, a hockey player and a (redlinked) botanist. Entertainer should make it pretty clear who we're talking about. Fan-1967 20:24, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Faked His Death

John Davidson (entertainer) → John Davidson (game show host) –(unbundled as requested) On the borderline where you'd expect (entertainer) to be a possible for article title WP:CRITERIA, but no, in WP:RS still overwhelmingly known as "host John Davidson" = 1,110 GBooks vs only "entertainer John Davidson" = 77 GBooks; perhaps because his sideline career was as dinner singer of lounge music standards, rather than a TV singer? It doesn't look to perfect when 1,100 vs 77 are for TV "host". The relevant policy is WP:AT, particularly 2. Naturalness ... Such titles usually convey what the subject is actually called in English. Openly Atheist

Although the son of Baptist ministers, John himself is an atheist. His atheism is important enough to him that he just released a video talking about it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_MlSaTTy14 It seems like it might merit a sentence or two in the Personal Life section.
