'''Moises “Chucky” Flores''' learned the fight game growing up in Guadalajara, Mexico, and spent the early years of his professional career building up his résumé in his home country. Now established as a title contender at 122 pounds, Flores looks to climb to the top of the division with his considerable talent.<ref name="premierboxingchampions.com">{{cite web|url=http://www.premierboxingchampions.com/moises-flores|title=Moises Flores|date=22 September 2015|work=PBC Boxing}}</ref> |

Moises flores turned professional in 2008 and compiled a record of 22-0 (1 NC) before he won the WBA interim title at Super bantamweight by beating Colombia boxer Óscar Escandón.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://boxscorenews.com/moiss-flores-dethroned-escandon-for-wba-super-bantamweight-championship-p120034-69.htm|title=Moisés Flores dethroned Escandon for WBA Super Bantamweight championship|publisher=Box score news|access-date=2018-05-29}}</ref> The World Boxing Association mandated a fight between Flores and full champion Guillermo Rigondeaux, in the fight Flores would be knocked out in the 1st round. The result of the fight would however be overturned to a no contest as the knockout blow was deemed to have landed after the bell.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/19682715/guillermo-rigondeaux-knockout-win-moises-flores-changed-no-decision-nevada-state-athletic-commission|title=Guillermo Rigondeaux's win will be changed to a no-decision by NSAC|date=19 June 2017 |publisher=ESPN|access-date=2017-06-20}}</ref> |

== Professional Career == |
Flores made his pro debut in August 2008 with a second-round KO of Oswaldo Salgado in Guadalajara. He fought exclusively in Mexico over the first six years of his career, and made quick work of most of his opponents. |
In his next fight, Flores was slated to challenge Daniel Roman for his WBA super bantamweight belt. However, Flores failed to make weight, and even though the fight was still on, the title was not on the line for Flores.<ref>{{Cite web|last=|first=|date=15 June 2018|title=Danny Roman: Surprised Flores Didn't Make Weight, I'm Ready|url=https://www.boxingscene.com/danny-roman-surprised-flores-make-weight-im-ready--129152|access-date=2020-06-22|website=BoxingScene.com|language=en-us}}</ref> Roman won the fight convincingly, while punishing Flores with body shots in the process.<ref>{{Cite web|date=2018-06-16|title=Danny Roman outclasses Moises Flores in junior featherweight title fight|url=https://www.ringtv.com/537822-danny-roman-outclasses-moises-flores-in-junior-featherweight-title-fight/|access-date=2020-06-22|website=The Ring}}</ref> |
Flores made his U.S. debut in September 2014, winning a six-round unanimous decision over Pablo Batres in Mesquite, Texas. He then gained a seventh-round TKO of Mexican veteran Mario Macias in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in November 2014. |
After that, Flores faced Brandon Figueroa in a WBA super bantamweight eliminator. Figueroa had a great start, and managed to drop Flores twice in the third round, the second time ending the fight with 1:35 to go.<ref>{{Cite web|title=Photos: Brandon Figueroa Beats Down Flores in WBA Eliminator|url=https://www.boxingscene.com/photos-brandon-figueroa-beats-down-flores-wba-eliminator--135368|access-date=2020-06-22|website=BoxingScene.com|date=14 January 2019 }}</ref> |
That victory set up a 122-pound title shot against interim champion Oscar Escandon in Carson, California, in April 2015. In an electrifying, all-action brawl, Flores earned a split decision to win the title. |
“This is a dream come true—more than a dream come true—for me,” Flores said after the fight. “I saw my family on the beach, eating meat. I saw my babies better dressed. For me this is a life-changing victory.” |
Now, he’s looking for many more to come. <ref name="premierboxingchampions.com"/> |

Moises Flores (born November 17, 1986) is a Mexican professional boxer who is a former WBA interim and IBO super bantamweight champion.
Professional career
[edit]Moises flores turned professional in 2008 and compiled a record of 22-0 (1 NC) before he won the WBA interim title at Super bantamweight by beating Colombia boxer Óscar Escandón.[1] The World Boxing Association mandated a fight between Flores and full champion Guillermo Rigondeaux, in the fight Flores would be knocked out in the 1st round. The result of the fight would however be overturned to a no contest as the knockout blow was deemed to have landed after the bell.[2]
In his next fight, Flores was slated to challenge Daniel Roman for his WBA super bantamweight belt. However, Flores failed to make weight, and even though the fight was still on, the title was not on the line for Flores.[3] Roman won the fight convincingly, while punishing Flores with body shots in the process.[4]
After that, Flores faced Brandon Figueroa in a WBA super bantamweight eliminator. Figueroa had a great start, and managed to drop Flores twice in the third round, the second time ending the fight with 1:35 to go.[5]
