Template notice
Your recent editing history at :Burlington mayoral election, 2009 shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.<!-- Template:uw-3rr -->

::: O! i am friggin' intrigued that you know about this Burlington IRV issue. being from Burlington, having voted in that election, and having written about IRV vs. Condorcet (and, at one time, being a friend of the candidate who got screwed by IRV), this is an issue close to my heart. are you involved in the Election Methods mailing list? Hello,
hay O!!!
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
i didn't know you were back at Wikipedia. for some reason i thought you left it.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
so i took a look at your contribs and see that it got thin around 2010 (with a 10 month gap) and then slowly the frequency of edits increased.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
so welcome from a friend who dares not identify himself lest trouble happens. i do DSP. you might remember me.

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
so greetings from anonymous.

Administrator account security (Correction to Arbcom 2019 special circular)
Kind Regards,
ArbCom would like to apologise and correct our previous mass message in light of the response from the community.

WMF Research Team
Since November 2018, six administrator accounts have been compromised and temporarily desysopped. In an effort to help improve account security, our intention was to remind administrators of existing policies on account security — that they are required to "have strong passwords and follow appropriate personal security practices." We have updated our procedures to ensure that we enforce these policies more strictly in the future. The policies themselves have not changed. In particular, two-factor authentication remains an optional means of adding extra security to your account. The choice not to enable 2FA will not be considered when deciding to restore sysop privileges to administrator accounts that were compromised.
