:Where is the evidence the image was released into the [[public domain]]? Making an image or a movie freely available to the public is ''not'' the same thing. : Thank you. I now invest most of the time in the [[Hebrew Wikipedia]], since there is a lot of work to be done there and here much of it was done by others and I have little to add. Recently, I jumped over here once in a time to fix some errors regarding Israeli issues but I can't gernatee I'll visit here in high frequency. '''[[User:MathKnight|< |

Good evening and regards from [[Campora San Giovanni]]. I write you regarding these two articles, if out of politeness you could translate them in Hebrew, two actors of a note concern European television series, but thanks to Rai International now with the new episodes of the 12 season they will be beautiful even more. I am speaking of the inspector Rex for better saying of their principal actors: Martin Weinek or Vainek, the veteran and Kaspar Capparoni, the new entry but very famous also in Israel. If you will help me in this I will translate you with pleasure some biography or geographical article in Spanish, French, Italian, Neapolitan and Sicilian, in how much in the Italian Wikipedia they are exactly biographer and geographer. In attends him of one certain answer of yours I send you the anticipated thanks and a regard from Campora San Giovanni, my village native. I thank you in advance--[[User:Lodewijk Vadacchino|Lodewijk Vadacchino]] ([[User talk:Lodewijk Vadacchino|talk]]) 13:15, 13 September 2008 (UTC) |

: Unfortunately, I am short of time either. I was absent from the EnWiki along time so I don't know all the policies and their initials nicknames (RS, RSN etc). I also noticed that every addition to an article is needed to be backuped by English reliable source, however I know mainly Hebrew sources (such as [[Ben-Dror Yemini]] who writes in Hebrew, though some of his articles are translated to English). To built it down from scratch - I thik it is too big on me, but I can help in certain points. '''[[User:MathKnight|< |

Your user page is awesome! I came here to actually ask you a question. It might be a little dumb though. I would like you to post the answer at MY talk page! Here's the question: I've noticed that you've created a type of award. It a chain with a spiked ball at the end and its awarded to those who have been attacked and didn't loose their cool. It says you created it. How did you create it? Please answer on my talk page thanks! [[User:Deidra C.|RaidenRules!]][[User talk:Deidra C.|Talk to me!]] 23:58 25 November 2012 (UTC) |

If you're keen on having an image with an erased background on the article I would recommend finding one that shows the same relation of the forearm and hand bones as described [http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1671/039.029.0406 here]. At the very least the distal extremity of the radius should be visible from the side. I'd also prefer one that kept the immediate substrate and the mount's support structures if any are present. --[[User:Dracontes|Dracontes]] ([[User talk:Dracontes|talk]]) 09:50, 24 December 2013 (UTC) |

Hi, and many thanks for adding the swimming croc image in [[Crocodilia]]. Just one thing: it looks as though the sequence runs from right to left, or is that just a trick of the reflections in the water? Maybe say what the seq. is in the caption. If it is in fact r-l at the moment, maybe we could change the images over to make it left to right? Just wondering. [[File:Information.svg|left|25px|alt=]]Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to [[:Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing]]. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at [[WP:Image resolution]], along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the [[User talk:Ronhjones|bot owner]] if you have any questions, or you can ask them at [[Wikipedia talk:Non-free content]]. Hello! I noticed this evening that your current signature uses deprecated <code><nowiki><font></nowiki></code> tags, which are causing [[Special:LintErrors/obsolete-tag|Obsolete HTML tags]] lint errors. As explained at [[WP:SIGFONT]]: |
|||
: {{tag|font}} tags were deprecated in [[HTML4]] and are entirely obsolete in [[HTML5]]. This means that the popular browsers may drop support for them at some point. Wikipedia is already preparing for this by [[lint (software)|delinting]] code project-wide through [[Wikipedia:Linter|Linter]]. When support finally is dropped, the tags will be ignored in all signatures; any properties such as color and font family will revert to their default values. For this reason, it is recommended that you use {{tag|span}} tags and CSS properties instead. |

I have prepared a replacement signature string for you. You are encouraged to change |

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:D9R-idf.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:D9R-idf.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 04:12, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Terrorist-child-hussam-abdu01.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Terrorist-child-hussam-abdu01.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr If you've written a quality article... 15:48, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

- Where is the evidence the image was released into the public domain? Making an image or a movie freely available to the public is not the same thing. Unless you can show that the IDF released all rights as copyright holder to the movie, there's no reason to think the image is public domain. —Angr If you've written a quality article... 20:27, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- The movie was released to all media outlets and was offered for free downloading in the old IDF website (that was removed and replaced by a new one). MathKnight Gothic Israeli Jew 21:09, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Oriental metal
[edit]I have nominated Oriental metal, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Oriental metal (2nd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. ≈ The Haunted Angel 22:47, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit]I have tagged Image:Zaka01.png as a disputed use of non-free media, because there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please clarify your fair use rationale on the image description page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 23:49, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
Subpages
[edit]Please note that to create subpages, so should use a forward slash "/", rather than a backward slash "\". I think a while back you clearly outlined my lack of scientific background in botany at the plants project. Recently, it was in this un-airconditioned (which is not a complaint by me, btw) very warm and I kind of eased some other frustrations with an opinion expressed at Anemone coronaria. I actually have a bigger opinion about more important things, which is that the warm days in California are not as bad as the warm days in the Midwest and that even when it gets to be 115 degrees here or whatever they said it was, I still feel like my body gets weak for living where I want to live every day/week/year that I am not there.
Also, I am used to your commons signature and I have to admit this. I don't know how old "too old" is, but I might be too old to imagine a Gothic Jew. With a nick like that, you should consider putting your picture here also -- too help the old folks.
There is much I don't understand. -- carol (talk) 05:06, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Please you could translate in Hebrew the articles Martin Weinek and Kaspar Capparoni? Thanks so much in advance
[edit]Good evening and regards from Campora San Giovanni. An article you created maybe deleted soon: Tools which can help you
[edit]The article you created, Oriental_metal maybe deleted from Wikipedia.
There is an ongoing debate about whether your article should be deleted here:
The faster your respond, the better chance the article you created can be saved. This is because deletion debates only stay open for a few days, and the first comments are usually the most important.
There are several tools and other editors who can help you keep the page from being deleted forever:
- You can list the page up for deletion on Article Rescue Squadron. If you need help listing your page, add a comment on the Article Rescue Squadron talk page.
- You can request a mentor to help explain to you all of the complex rules that editors use to get a page deleted, here: Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User. But don't wait for a mentor to respond on the deletion page.
- When try to delete a page, veteran editors love to use a lot of rule acronyms. Don't let these acronyms intimidate you.
Here is a list of your own acronyms you can use yourself: WP:Deletion debate acronyms which may support the page you created being kept.
Acronyms in deletion debates are sometimes incorrectly used, or ignore rules or exceptions. - You can merge the article into a larger or better established article on the same topic.
If your page is deleted, you still have many options available. Good luck! travb (talk) 09:46, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use Image:Gothic-armor06.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Gothic-armor06.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 14:01, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
May I ask for your help with it, in case you are interested with the subject? Some native speakers say the article desperately needs a good copyedit, and unfortunately my English isn't good enough. Thanks in advance. Flayer (talk) 12:19, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
- I didn't see any notice about it (niether in the talk page). I'm niether a native English speaker but if you will be more specific I might be able to help. Also note I rarely visit the English Wikipedia so it is better you contact me in the Hebrew talk page: he:שיחת משתמש:MathKnight. MathKnight Gothic Israeli Jew 17:22, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
IMI Galil
[edit]Please do not add content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to IMI Galil. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. ROG5728 (talk) 20:30, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
- IMI Galil can be seen on Knesset Guard officer (such as here and here and here) but also anually in Independence Day (Israel) official ceremony on Mount Herzl, where the officers march with bayoneted Galil rifles. MathKnight Gothic Israeli Jew 21:06, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
Anti Zionism and Anti Semitism
[edit]I think the thing to do is to create an article on this subject and then we can link to it. We need to build up a whole range of material on the subject. I barely have enough time to edit the stuff I do edit, and it needs someone to study the subject, find sources and maintain the article. IF you're interested and can commit to maintain it, I think it could be a big deal. One could present it as an analogy which matches the apartheid thing.
Telaviv1 (talk) 18:05, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I am short of time either. I was absent from the EnWiki along time so I don't know all the policies and their initials nicknames (RS, RSN etc). I also noticed that every addition to an article is needed to be backuped by English reliable source, however I know mainly Hebrew sources (such as Ben-Dror Yemini who writes in Hebrew, though some of his articles are translated to English). To built it down from scratch - I thik it is too big on me, but I can help in certain points. MathKnight 15:05, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

Reviewer granted
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 16:50, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Ramallah-lynch01.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Ramallah-lynch01.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jmundo (talk) 00:14, 10 February 2011 (UTC)

Proposal
[edit]It isn't strange that the only tiny developed democratic country in the Middle East (the only place where Arabs are truly free) is the only one that has an entire article dedicated to their enemies' accusations (real or invented), but countries like Saudi Arabia, Iran or the Palestinians don't have one. My proposal is to create a page about Criticism of the Iranian government... starting with simple facts: it's a theocratic regime which finances terrorism (Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Revolutionary Guards, etc), kills dissidents in Europe, bombs Beirut and Buenos Aires, helps to violently suppress protests in Syria (where its allied dictator is facing major problems) and inside Iran, promotes violence against defenseless civilians in Israel, Lebanon, Afghanistan and Iraq, possesses ambitions in Bahrain, scares Sunni Arab countries of the Persian Gulf and threatens to close the strait of Hormuz, violates Human Rights, threatens to erase Israel from the Earth, it's an oligarchical-clerical dictatorship that hangs homosexuals, denies the Holocaust, perpetrates terrorist attacks in Thailand, Georgia, India, Azerbaijan, Kenya, Greece, Turkey, South Africa, Cyprus, Bulgaria (at least 24 countries in five continents)... kills diplomats and tourists, assaults embassies, has an antisemitic imperialist ideology full of dangerous suicidal fanatics and misogynists, stones women for committing "sexual offenses", has genocidal aspirations against another nation, oppresses minorities, has religious ambitions of regional and global power... a danger for the world in general and Israel and the Jewish people in particular. I mean, don't you think we should remove Wikipedia's double standard regarding criticism of other countries?? I'll let you think about it and if you want starting the new article. Greetings.--JellWaffle (talk) 23:38, 30 September 2012 (UTC)

Swimming crocodile
[edit]Hi, and many thanks for adding the swimming croc image in Crocodilia. Just one thing: it looks as though the sequence runs from right to left, or is that just a trick of the reflections in the water? Maybe say what the seq. is in the caption. If it is in fact r-l at the moment, maybe we could change the images over to make it left to right? Just wondering. Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:32, 24 October 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, the pictures runs from right to left. Non-free rationale for File:Gdud-601.png
[edit]
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Gdud-601.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 18:40, 13 June 2018 (UTC)

ArbCom 2018 election voter message
[edit]Hello, MathKnight. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. - It is an SVG file, which can be resized arbitrarly, so the pixel limit is meaningless in this case. MathKnight 19:10, 26 November 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

[edit]Replaceable fair use File:Tag-handasa06.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Tag-handasa06.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 19:22, 19 October 2020 (UTC)

Wikipedia Wars and the Israel-Palestine conflict...please fill out my survey?
[edit]Hello :) I am writing my MA dissertation on Wikipedia Wars and the Israel-Palestine conflict, and I noticed that you have contributed to those pages. My dissertation will look at the process of collaborative knowledge production on the Israel-Palestine conflict, and the effect it has on bias in the articles. This will involve understanding the profiles and motivations of editors, contention/controversy and dispute resolution in the talk pages, and bias in the final article.
For more information, you can check out my meta-wiki research page or my user page, where I will be posting my findings when I am done.
I would greatly appreciate if you could take 5 minutes to fill out this quick survey before 8 August 2021.
Participation in this survey is entirely voluntary and anonymous. There are no foreseeable risks nor benefits to you associated with this project.
Thanks so much,
Sarah Sanbar

ARBPIA
[edit]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in the Arab–Israeli conflict. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}}
on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Your signature
[edit]Hello! I noticed this evening that your current signature uses deprecated <font>
tags, which are causing Obsolete HTML tags lint errors. As explained at WP:SIGFONT:
<font>...</font>
tags were deprecated in HTML4 and are entirely obsolete in HTML5. This means that the popular browsers may drop support for them at some point. Wikipedia is already preparing for this by delinting code project-wide through Linter. When support finally is dropped, the tags will be ignored in all signatures; any properties such as color and font family will revert to their default values. For this reason, it is recommended that you use<span>...</span>
tags and CSS properties instead.
I have prepared a replacement signature string for you. You are encouraged to change
'''[[User:MathKnight|<font color="blue">M</font><font color="black">ath</font><font color="green">K</font><font color="black">night</font>]]'''
: MathKnight
to
'''[[User:MathKnight|<span style="color: blue">M</span><span style="color: black">ath</span><span style="color: green">K</span><span style="color: black">night</span>]]'''
: MathKnight
Thanks, and hope you have a wonderful evening! Zinnober9 (talk) 00:05, 30 August 2022 (UTC)
