== Citizens through descent == |
|||
Hey, on the same note as this deletion request, I wanted to ask if you think it's also appropriate to merge the Naturalized citizens by country subcat with People with acquired citizenship? <b style="font-family:Verdana;font-size:80%;color:#000080">Nehme</b><b style="font-family:Verdana;font-size:80%;color:#27B382">1499</b> 12:50, 17 November 2022 (UTC) |
|||
:If I remember correctly, naturalization is one of the ways to acquire citizenship. If :Category:People with acquired citizenship contains a significant proportion of people who acquired the citizenship via something other than naturalization, then perhaps it could be kept. If not, then could be merged. Could be brought to discussion anyway. Brandmeistertalk 14:06, 17 November 2022 (UTC) |
|||
::True, but "naturalized citizens" it's the only subcat of "acquired citizenship". Might as well just chunk everything in acquired imo. == NATO Motto == |
|||
Hi there, can I ask, how strongly do you feel about including animus in consulendo liber on the NATO article? I know it got kicked out of the infobox because the consensus that was decided was that it was too trivial to include, and I think the same should probably apply to the summary. Before I revert the edit though, I wanted to see if there was somewhere else in the article that you could find to integrate the factoid.-- Patrick Neil, o<small>Ѻ</small>∞/Talk 13:47, 3 December 2022 (UTC) |
|||
:I think it should be mentioned in the article because an encyclopedia cannot ignore the fact that NATO, just like many other organizations, has a motto. I was somewhat surprised when the motto parameter was discontinued in the organization infobox, but such mottos should be mentioned in the article body anyway. Personally I prefer placing them in the lead per WP:SUMMARY, but the place could be discussed. |||
*Закончила через три месяца — латвийский зверь на ловца не бежал, а трансконтинентальные перевозки были очень дорогим удовольствием. |
|||
*Во-вторых, латвийское правительство делает все для развития местного авиарынка. Я имею в виду снижение сборов аэропорта. |
|||
Thank you for your time! Sunnya343 (talk) 04:57, 13 May 2023 (UTC) |
|||
:Hi, the first sentence would be: "It [Uzbekistan Airways] ceased operations after three months – the Latvian counterpart has not been eager to meet the expectations, while transcontinental flights have been very expensive". The second sentence is: "Secondly, the Latvian government is doing everything to foster the local aviation market. By that I mean lowering departure taxes". Russian phrase from the first sentence "на ловца и зверь бежит" (literally "the game runs to a hunter") is an idiom meaning a good opportunity that comes by itself. Brandmeistertalk 09:51, 13 May 2023 (UTC) |
|||
::Thank you! I would just like to clarify, is the first sentence basically saying that Uzbekistan Airways stopped operating the flight because it was not profitable/successful [so the airline rerouted it through Amsterdam]? Sunnya343 (talk) 05:00, 14 May 2023 (UTC) |

:::Alongside not being profitable, it says that the Latvian destination was not fruitful (at least as I understand it). Brandmeistertalk 18:28, 14 May 2023 (UTC) |

== Russian source == |
|||
Hi Brandmeister, could you help me verify a claim in a Russian paper? Google Translate gave a rather garbled result, presumably due to the quality of the image. The source is here, and in Sarmatians#Etymology its page 296 (which is the sixth page in the preview) is used to support the statement '[*Sarmata or *Sarumata] meant "armed with throwing darts and arrows," and is cognate with the Indic Sanskrit term śárumant (शरुमन्त्), which makes it semantically similar to the endonym of the Scythians, *Skuδatā, meaning "archers."' |
|||
Could you verify if this statement is actually supported by that page of the source? Thank you so much! Liu1126 (talk) 10:24, 9 November 2023 (UTC) |

:Hi, seemingly it does support the source. The related part in the source is "...прилагательное *sauru-mat-a-, которое находит себе цельнолексемное соответствие в др.-инд. ITN recognition for Sergei Mavrodi

Mikhail Tukhachevsky
[edit]Hello, I'm Horus from Thai Wikipedia. Currently the article th:มีคาอิล ตูคาเชฟสกี is being nominated to Good Article status and I'm reviewing it. It is mainly translated from English Mikhail Tukhachevsky. However, when I look into Russian version ru:Тухачевский, Михаил Николаевич, I've found it to be considerably longer than the English version.
GA criteria says the article have to "addresses the main aspects of the topic." My question, since I can't understand Russian, is that 'is the Russian article contain something that hasn't already covered in English?' Or in your opinion, what info should be added to the article before it can be nominated GA? Thanks. --Horus (talk) 18:27, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hi. Yes, the Russian article looks considerably larger, its most developed sections are: the Russian Civil War, the 1920 Soviet-Polish War, his suppression of anti-Soviet rebellions and his contributions to the Soviet Army theory and practice. It also has sections on early life and WWI, his arrest and death, political repressions against his family, his posthumous rehabilitation, awards and references in culture (literature, film, etc). I don't know Thai though. Brandmeistertalk 22:06, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
- It's exactly the same as English. We tend to translate articles from English to Thai. --Horus (talk) 09:49, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
- I used Google Translate on the Russian version and have found these missing info in English

Russian translation backlog project
[edit]Can you write some of the articles on this very long list of articles needed on English Wikipedia? They are all from Russian Wikipedia and exceed notability standards. I'm currently working on Lyalya Nasukhanova, but the rest really probably aren't going to be written on English Wikipedia by someone else anytime soon despite being of higher-than-usual notability.--PlanespotterA320 (talk) 01:47, 5 December 2018 (UTC)

Azerbaijani names
[edit]Hi, I notice you've moved a number of Azerbaijani footballers to new spellings. I'm no expert on these names, so I'm not fussed either way but you've left the page openings with the original spellings. So, for example, the article is titled Kamran Agayev but then opens "Kamran Aghayev (born..." which looks very odd. The original spellings are also used throughout the articles.
I'd also query the move of Ruslan Abyshov as all of the English language sources in the article use the original Abışov spelling, as well as a few others I've looked up. Kosack (talk) 15:40, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hi. Most of names inside Category:Azerbaijani people and its subcategories stick to WP:RUROM-based spelling rather than original Azerbaijani, so I was thinking about consistency. But as far as I know we don't have a formal guideline on this. Brandmeistertalk 16:48, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
- According to WP:NCRUS, WP:NCUE should usually take priority which would mean the most common usage in English-language sources. In Abisov's case, I'm struggling to find a single English language source that uses the new spelling. Kosack (talk) 17:08, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
- That's because such sources may use only Azerbaijani spelling throughout for all related names, e.g. National-football-teams.com and EU-football.info. To enforce the same consistency in Wikipedia biographies and move them to new spellings perhaps a discussion at Wikipedia_talk:Naming_conventions_(people) would be needed. The list of Azerbaijan international footballers, in particular, had mixed spellings where the same last names, for example, were spelled differently, depending on person, and that was odd. Brandmeistertalk 17:28, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
- But if that's what they're using then so should we. A user searching for Abisov would search for the player based on what they had seen, if Abyshov is not used anywhere else then the user wouldn't be able to find his page. Even official bodies such as UEFA and newspapers such as The Guardian use the original spelling. Using Abyshov is making it significantly harder for a neutral user to locate the page by using a title only someone versed in cross-language translation would be able to understand.
- The List of Azerbaijan international footballers uses the title each page is listed at, if there's an issue there it's with the article naming structure. Kosack (talk) 17:54, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
- There could always be redirects to the name. My point was that using different spellings (like Aghayev, Agayev and Ağayev) may look confusing and weird to an average reader. But I won't object reverting to previous names. Brandmeistertalk 18:32, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
- Yeah we should really be using one name which should be the WP:COMMONNAME. Based on what I've seen, I'd agree with all of the moves apart from the Abisov one as the sources seem to follow suit with those. However, I can't find any reference to Abysov being used in it's place. Abisov, even a few Abbasov's I can see, but if the sources are using the original then we should follow suit on that one. Kosack (talk) 18:51, 16 December 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Botanists' names
[edit]There are many cases of botanists with similar names, so if we don't use the name given in the source, how do we know that it's the same person? We aren't given this person's name in the Cyrillic alphabet in the source ([1]), so it's not simply a case of choosing a transliteration. If you can't provide a source showing that the botanist is known by either the name in the source or your transliteration, the sourced name should be used. Peter coxhead (talk) 10:32, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
- Sources don't always Romanize the names the way we do, so a redirect to our spelling is always possible. I'm content with the current solution on Pobedimova anyway. Brandmeistertalk 10:38, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
- Ok, fine. (I once served on a BSI subcommittee on transliteration so I'm familiar with the issues.) Just to note for the future that lists of botanical or zoological authors need to show all the transliterations found in the relevant literature, not just ours. Reverted Edits in Khojaly Massacre Article--why?
[edit]I am curious why you reverted the edits I made in the Khojaly Massacre article. It's well documented that there were numerous massacres and pogroms against ethnic Armenians by Azerbaijanis in the late 1980s and early 1990s. This is not controversial. These are worth mentioning to a) provide necessary background information to what led up to Khojaly and what followed it up (i.e. the Maraga massacre) b) to present the article in a fair, balanced, and unbiased manner. I'm wondering if there was a political motivation to your reversions? If so, Wikipedia has a duty to be apolitical. Removing references to these massacres and the followup does not neutralize the point of view, but rather does the opposite.Preservedmoose (talk) 16:37, 27 June 2019 (UTC)

You have shown interest in abortion. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

- Please accept the following advice from someone who has been around this particular block before. Prolonged one-against-many arguments are a common source of topic bans in areas covered by discretionary sanctions. At this point your best options are (a) drop it or (b) start an RfC, make one comment only in support of your preferred position (and don't make the mistake of arguing the toss with everyone who holds the opposing view) and abide by consensus. Further argufying is quite likely to end up with you sanctioned. Guy (Help!) 22:19, 3 August 2019 (UTC)

[edit]I've been asked here to translate something from Russian to English. - My first murder was in Vinnytsia Raion (?), near the notarial office. The murdered person was a man aged about 45. I came and saw a man sitting on a bench. I approached him and hit his head with a hammer. On the road to Dniprodzerzhinsk, near the Tarnovo Proyezd (?) (unintelligible) we pulled over, opened the car's hood (unintelligible) Vitya saw a cyclist, he took our binoculars, looked and said "a cyclist". I grabbed the hammer. Vitya said "Let's do it" (unintelligible) I stood at the road. When the cyclist had approached, I hit his head with the hammer. (unintelligible) He made some sounds, so he was still alive. I poked a knife into his eye. (unintelligible) give a sincere admission. A sincere admission.
- About what?
- That I committed murders in the city of Dnepropetrovsk and in Podolsk. I committed murders with my accomplice, Sayenko Viktor Igorevich. I can even show a video recording where everything is documented.
- Documented on what?
- Our video recording was made on Vitya's phone, I have the video.
- Who made the recording?
- Vitya.
- For what purpose?
- Well, as a keepsake. (unintelligible)

A preview of the POTD is displayed below and can be edited at Template:POTD/2020-10-05. If you have any concerns, please place a message at Wikipedia talk:Picture of the day. Thank you! Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:54, 21 September 2020 (UTC)
The Tortoise Trainer is an oil-on-canvas painting created by the Turkish artist Osman Hamdi Bey between 1906 and 1907. It depicts a dervish contemplating several tortoises roaming the floor of an upper-storey room in what may be the Green Mosque in Bursa. He wears a skullcap wrapped round with a sash, and a long, red robe with embroidered border. In his left hand he holds a ney and on his back hangs a small kettledrum; he is attempting to train the animals with these musical instruments rather than by the use of force. In the painting, Hamdi satirises the slow and ineffective attempts at reform in the Ottoman Empire. The work is now located in the Pera Museum in Istanbul. Painting credit: Osman Hamdi Bey

Help with duplicate Russian articles
[edit]Hello! I realized while on commons:Category:Agrigan Island that the ru.wiki articles ru:Агриган (which shares wikidata:Q18399360 with the rest of the interwiki content) and ru:Агрихан (wikidata:Q396730, which only appears to link RU to the Commons category) are on the same topic. The duplication is currently causing some weird issues in navigating the interwikis out of Commons. Could I ask for your assistance in combining the two RU articles? Many thanks! - Featous (talk) 20:28, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
- Hi. From what I see, ru:Агриган is about the volcano, while ru:Агрихан is about the island where that volcano is located, so these are not duplicates (though the English spelling is the same). I can possibly propose merging the volcano article (which doesn't have the English article) to the island article (which has its English equivalent) in the Russian Wikipedia. Brandmeistertalk 22:04, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
- Thank for the quick reply!
- It's very helpful to know that they are not actually duplicates. I switched the Commons link from ru:Агриган to ru:Агрихан. So now the island article is appropriately crosswiki linked to everything else and the volcano article should not be linked to anything. If the island article doesn't already link to the volcano article, can I ask you to add the ru.wiki equivalent of a 'see also', so people can still find the volcano article? Thanks again, Featous (talk) 22:35, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
- The island article already contains a link to the volcano article (piped to "вулканический конус"). Cheers. Brandmeistertalk 22:47, 1 March 2021 (UTC)

2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war
[edit]Hey, I consider the closure consensus of the RFC on the list of the belligerents in the infobox wrong. Particularly, as per the results Turkey clearly should not have been listed as an alleged belligerent separately in the infobox. I will request Mikehawk10 (non-admin closurer) to unblock the closure to make a space for an uninvolved admin to come up with the consensus. Do you know any uninvolved admin who can contribute to the unbiased resolution?KHE'O (talk) 04:07, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, the RfC noted: "There does not appear to be consensus at this time among editors that Turkey qualifies a belligerent". Indeed, I counted 10 votes for "not belligerent" and 7 votes for belligerent. That is not a consensus. I think the closure was correct in that regard. Brandmeistertalk 08:33, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
- Upon closer look, the decision is somewhat contradictory, as it allows to have Turkey as an alleged belligerent. I think our long-time mediator User:Golbez may join. Brandmeistertalk 09:11, 21 April 2021 (UTC)

Translation help
[edit]Hi there. I've seen you listed as an active Russian-to-English translator. Could you please translate the following paragraph, I'm having some trouble: "Режиссёр отмечал, что в игре каждый из действующих лиц был чрезвычайно эмоционален и пластичен, но вместе с тем герои оригинала были названы плоскими и схематичными. После того, как их перенесли на бумагу, Ган понял, что итоговый результат оказался неудачным. Актёры являли собой более объёмные и сложные образы, потому многие персонажи подверглись переработке. Создатели фильма хотели, чтобы все герои картины казались серыми и неясными, как бы находясь в разных измерениях одновременно." Have a nice day. --ภץאคгöร 11:13, 9 May 2021 (UTC)
- Hi. The translation would be: The director noted that in the acting, each of the characters was very emotional and flexible, but at the same time the characters of the original were called flat and schematic. After they were put on paper, Gan realized that the final result was a failure. The actors represented more expansive and complex personas, so many of the characters were revamped. The filmmakers wanted all the characters in the picture to appear gray and murky, as if they were in different dimensions at the same time. Brandmeistertalk 11:47, 9 May 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you so much. ภץאคгöร 12:12, 9 May 2021 (UTC)

The Melun Diptych is a two-panel oil painting by the French court painter Jean Fouquet (c. 1420–1481) created around 1452. The name of the diptych came from its original home in the Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame in Melun. The left panel depicts Étienne Chevalier with his patron saint Saint Stephen and the right panel, seen here, depicts the Virgin and Christ child. The Madonna wears a blue dress, white mantle and a jewel-encrusted crown. On her lap sits the Christ child, who is making a pointing gesture at the patron and the saint. The two are surrounded by blue and red cherubim, which greatly contrast with the pale skin of the Virgin and Christ child. Painting credit: Jean Fouquet |

Merge discussion
[edit]I reverted this good-faith edit of yours for the reason included in the summary (diff). I believe that the discussion should be closed first before removing the merge templates. Regards — Alalch Emis (talk) 21:17, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
Hi Brandmeister. You closed this merger discussion https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:2020_Nagorno-Karabakh_ceasefire_agreement#Merging_Zangezur_Corridor_into_Aftermath_of_the_agreement having previously voted “no” to merger yourself, and calling "yes" opinion "ridiculous". Do you think that is fair, to close a discussion, where you are an involved party? --Armatura (talk) 06:02, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
- I second this. Brandmeister you should retract that closure, please read WP:RMCLOSE. ZaniGiovanni (talk) 15:03, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
- Armatura, ZaniGiovanni, see WP:MERGECLOSE:
Any user, including the user who first proposed the merger, may close the discussion and move forward with the merger if enough time (normally one week or more) has elapsed. [...] Closing of merger discussions differs from closing of requested move discussions in that closings by involved users are allowed. Admins are not needed.
Couldn't reply sooner, as I was busy. Brandmeistertalk 14:13, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
- Armatura, ZaniGiovanni, see WP:MERGECLOSE:
I can also see in the policy you cited that in more unclear, controversial cases, the preferred way of closure is by an editor / admin, who is neutral and not directly involved in the merger proposal or the discussion. You can post it at WP:Proposed mergers to get some help. If necessary, one may request that an administrator who is not involved to close the discussion, at the Requests for Closure noticeboard.
I’m sure you well know that the “Zangezur corridor” is the most controversial topic in Armenia-Azerbaijan topic currently, so I’m still questioning that closure. Why have you not sought a neutral editor’s / admin’s help to close a heated merger discussion of controversial article? A reflective answer would be “I can see why you would see the closure by involved user as controversial” but I get a selective citation of a policy that turns a blind eyre on the controversialnesss of the subject instead --Armatura (talk) 21:47, 13 January 2022 (UTC)

[edit]I am finding problems at Russian-Ukrainian information war that may be only translation issues—it’s likely a Google translation— but are on their face serious enough to discredit the article’s premise. For the record I am quite certain that this is taking place, but as an honest Wikipedia I have to agree that the article needs at a minimum to be better referenced, and I speak neither Russian nor Ukrainian. Desolation is the fifth in a series of five oil-on-canvas paintings entitled The Course of Empire, created by the American artist Thomas Cole between 1833 and 1836. The series, now in the collection of the New-York Historical Society, depicts the growth and fall of an imaginary city, situated at the lower end of a river valley. In this painting, the remains of the city are depicted decades after its destruction by invaders, with the landscape beginning to return to wilderness. Painting credit: Thomas Cole

Citizens through descent
[edit]Hey, on the same note as this deletion request, I wanted to ask if you think it's also appropriate to merge the Naturalized citizens by country subcat with People with acquired citizenship? Nehme1499 12:50, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
- If I remember correctly, naturalization is one of the ways to acquire citizenship. If Category:People with acquired citizenship contains a significant proportion of people who acquired the citizenship via something other than naturalization, then perhaps it could be kept. If not, then could be merged. Could be brought to discussion anyway. Brandmeistertalk 14:06, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
- True, but "naturalized citizens" it's the only subcat of "acquired citizenship". Might as well just chunk everything in acquired imo. Nehme1499 16:27, 17 November 2022 (UTC)

NATO Motto
[edit]Hi there, can I ask, how strongly do you feel about including animus in consulendo liber on the NATO article? I know it got kicked out of the infobox because the consensus that was decided was that it was too trivial to include, and I think the same should probably apply to the summary. Before I revert the edit though, I wanted to see if there was somewhere else in the article that you could find to integrate the factoid.-- Patrick Neil, oѺ∞/Talk 13:47, 3 December 2022 (UTC)
- I think it should be mentioned in the article because an encyclopedia cannot ignore the fact that NATO, just like many other organizations, has a motto. I was somewhat surprised when the motto parameter was discontinued in the organization infobox, but such mottos should be mentioned in the article body anyway. Personally I prefer placing them in the lead per WP:SUMMARY, but the place could be discussed. Brandmeistertalk 13:56, 3 December 2022 (UTC)

Translation
[edit]Hello Brandmeister, would you be able to translate a few sentences in an article for me? This is for the Uzbekistan Airways and Riga airport articles. I wasn't totally confident in the Google translations of these sentences (article link):
- Закончила через три месяца — латвийский зверь на ловца не бежал, а трансконтинентальные перевозки были очень дорогим удовольствием.
- Во-вторых, латвийское правительство делает все для развития местного авиарынка. Я имею в виду снижение сборов аэропорта.
Thank you for your time! Sunnya343 (talk) 04:57, 13 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, the first sentence would be: "It [Uzbekistan Airways] ceased operations after three months – the Latvian counterpart has not been eager to meet the expectations, while transcontinental flights have been very expensive". Brandmeistertalk 09:51, 13 May 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you! I would just like to clarify, is the first sentence basically saying that Uzbekistan Airways stopped operating the flight because it was not profitable/successful [so the airline rerouted it through Amsterdam]? Sunnya343 (talk) 05:00, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
- Alongside not being profitable, it says that the Latvian destination was not fruitful (at least as I understand it). Brandmeistertalk 18:28, 14 May 2023 (UTC)

Russian source
[edit]Hi Brandmeister, could you help me verify a claim in a Russian paper? Google Translate gave a rather garbled result, presumably due to the quality of the image. The source is here, and in Sarmatians#Etymology its page 296 (which is the sixth page in the preview) is used to support the statement '[*Sarmata or *Sarumata] meant "armed with throwing darts and arrows," and is cognate with the Indic Sanskrit term śárumant (शरुमन्त्), which makes it semantically similar to the endonym of the Scythians, *Skuδatā, meaning "archers."'
Could you verify if this statement is actually supported by that page of the source? Thank you so much! Liu1126 (talk) 10:24, 9 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, seemingly it does support the source. The related part in the source is "...прилагательное *sauru-mat-a-, которое находит себе цельнолексемное соответствие в др.-инд. (RV) saru-mant- "вооружённый" saru- метательным оружием (дротиками, стрелами)" ("...adjective *sauru-mat-a-, which has a whole-lexical correspondence in the Indo-European saru-mant- "armed with saru", a throwing weapon (javelins, arrows)". Notice of Arbitration Enforcement noticeboard discussion
[edit]Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a report involving you at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Enforcement regarding a possible violation of an Arbitration Committee decision. The thread is Brandmeister. Thank you.
Notice that you are now subject to an arbitration enforcement sanction
[edit]The following sanction now applies to you:
You are topic-banned from all Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict-related articles, broadly construed.
You have been sanctioned as a result of this AE thread.
This sanction is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Armenia-Azerbaijan 3 and, if applicable, the contentious topics procedure. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions. If the sanction includes a ban, please read the banning policy to ensure you understand what this means. If you do not comply with this sanction, you may be blocked for an extended period, by way of enforcement of this sanction—and you may also be made subject to further sanctions.
You may appeal this sanction using the process described here. I recommend that you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template if you wish to submit an appeal to the arbitration enforcement noticeboard. You may also appeal directly to me (on my talk page), before or instead of appealing to the noticeboard. Even if you appeal this sanction, you remain bound by it until you are notified by an uninvolved administrator that the appeal has been successful. You are also free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. Number 57 15:07, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
- Given this was your third time at ANI/AE in six weeks due to issues in this subject area, the topic ban is not time-limited (i.e. indefinite). You can of course appeal the length of the topic ban now, or, if you choose, wait until you feel have demonstrated the ability to edit more neutrally (and without any topic ban violations) and request the ban be lifted. [edit]Hello Brandmeister. I saw in the Wikipedia:Local Embassy that you are a volunteer ambassador for the Russian language. I have a request regarding sources in Russian. I am looking for at least one reliable source each or both that verifies that, Cholpon Baekova and Janyl Alieva are in Kyrgistan the first women chairperson of the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court respectively. Regards, Thinker78 (talk) 02:20, 23 December 2023 (UTC)
- Hi. I'm not seeing Russian-language sources for those assertions, but this says that Baekova was the first Prosecutor General of Kyrgyzstan (and the article's list confirms that). Brandmeistertalk 08:49, 23 December 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for checking it out. Regards, Thinker78 (talk) 01:46, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
I saw you mention barbarism and oblivion, before ending on an ellipsis...so yeah, anyway, it's 40+ minutes of your life well spent, if you haven't already. Just a suggestion. No pressure! InedibleHulk (talk) 23:07, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
- Will check out, thanks. Brandmeistertalk 23:09, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
A translation request
[edit]Hello Brandmeister. Can you help me verify a sentence written in Russian? Please. The sentence is: Тип дивы, слава которой мало зависит от ее ролей., from this article. Thanks in advance. Oroborvs (talk) 16:02, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hi. "The type (kind) of diva, whose fame doesn't rely much on her roles". Something like that. Brandmeistertalk 16:08, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for answering. Oroborvs (talk) 16:18, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
