Hi MarkRosewater! I noticed your contributions to Eugene, Oregon and wanted to welcome you to the Wikipedia community. I hope you like it here and decide to stay.
As you get started, you may find this short tutorial helpful:

Happy editing! Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 18:59, 18 July 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you! Pleasure to meet you. <3 MarkRosewater (talk) 19:34, 18 July 2020 (UTC)
- Just saying Hi. I'm not as active as I once was, but those of us interested in Eugene should stick together. Valfontis (talk) 14:36, 17 August 2020 (UTC)
- P.S. If we know each other in real life please don't out me on-Wiki or mention it where we may know each other either. Email should be fine. Cheers, Valfontis (talk) 14:43, 17 August 2020 (UTC)
Recommended structure of city articles
[edit]Hi, again, MarkRosewater,
As a new editor, you are probably unaware of Wikipedia'a prferred structure for city articles. Please edit to conform with that structure... Cheers! — Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 21:08, 18 July 2020 (UTC)
Will do so, thank you! The order is very important. MarkRosewater (talk) 21:16, 18 July 2020 (UTC)
Hi Grand'mere Eugene What do you suggest I do about the order of the categories?
- Hi Mark, always good to see a motivated new contributor! However, I'd urge you to slow down a little, to allow for other editors an opportunity to weigh in on your proposed changes. Since you seem to have ideas for substantial changes to the Eugene, Oregon article, I'd especially urge you to leave a note at Talk:Eugene, Oregon describing what changes you feel are worthwhile. This is the before-and-after of your recent edits; it's really a great deal of change for any editor, regardless of their experience, to make to a highly visible article without some kind of consensus for change among several editors. I am confident that your intentions are good, but good intentions are only part of it -- we try to operate by consensus here, which often means a bit of description about what you're trying to do ahead of time, and leaving time for others to react. Let me know if I can be of assistance! -Pete Forsyth (talk) 21:52, 18 July 2020 (UTC)
- Will do, Pete! Thanks for the tips! MarkRosewater (talk) 22:02, 18 July 2020 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for August 12
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Portland Timbers, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Brian Taylor. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:24, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

[edit]An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Portland Timbers–Vancouver Whitecaps rivalry, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page John Bain.

[edit]You're still not explaining what you're doing, and the additions you're making are incorrectly formatted. For instance, in this edit you added

I showed you in an earlier edit that you don't have to do this |report = Report
but can instead do this |report = https://web.archive.org/web/20121012121843/http://www.uslsoccer.com/stats/2007/385696.html
. At least the score is formatted correctly. I suspect you're copying these from an existing article, most likely the Portland season page.
While you're at it, you can avoid |goals1 = Gregor 29<br />Olum 52 and instead use
|goals1 =
* Gregor 29
* Olum 52
Thanks for updating the page, but I suspect it's overkill to list ever match in this way. Walter Görlitz (talk) 23:27, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
Thanks I guess. I'm not gonna entirely change the way I edit but I'll pick up the reporting change MarkRosewater (talk) 12:19, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
