In the early 1990s, Kowalski was the frontman of [[I Spy (band)|I Spy]], a [[hardcore punk]] band originally from Regina, and originally called Clump. He and the band moved to [[Winnipeg, Manitoba|Winnipeg]] in 1994. The band played together until the summer of 1996, when they decided to call it quits.

After that he became part of a band called [[Swallowing Shit]], who played together until they were banned from doing shows in 1997 when approximately 300 Christians, offended by their song "Pro-Abortion, Anti-Christ", showed up at a show to protest. This led to the city of Winnipeg enforcing an unused and forgotten law which declares it illegal to question the authority of the church within city limits.


Kowalski joined Propagandhi in 1997 and also played bass for [[J Church (band)|J Church]] on their 1997 Japanese tour.

Todd "The Rod" Kowalski (born May 27, 1973) is a Canadian bassist and singer, currently a member of hardcore punk band Propagandhi.[1] Along with his band, he lives a vegan lifestyle and supports animal rights.[2]
