Dawniej wieś szlachecka, zapewne gniazdo rodu Szczytskich, z których wywodził się Jan Szczytski h. Doliwa odznaczony za wojnę z Kozakami, a wspomniany przez Marcina Kromera i Bartosza Paprockiego. W "Liber beneficiorum..." Jana Łaskiego wspomniany jest tam kościół z XV w. fundowany przez Hińczę z Rogowa, kasztelana sandomierskiego. Wizyta biskupia z 1765 r. opisuje tan kościół jako drewniany w bardzo złym stanie. W następstwie tej wizyty parafię zniesiono, Szczyty przyłączono do parafii działoszyńskiej, a z materiałów po kościele wystawiono kaplicę, która posiada barokowe wyposażenie. |

Szczyty (pronounced: [ˈʂt͡ʂɨtɨ]) is a village in Gmina Baborów, Opole Voivodeship, Poland. It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) east of Baborów, 16 km (10 mi) east of Głubczyce, and 57 km (35 mi) south of the regional capital Opole.
History
