Am I the only one who senses something missing about this movie's plot? That is, our Detective K (Ryan Gosling) doesn't do much actual inspired or deductive detecting. In fact all the important questions are asked aloud by female characters, then K seems to figure "oh yeah", and jumps on that. For example, sex worker Mariette(Mackenzie Davis)finding K at a lunch table, sees him holding a photo of the stark white dead tree, asks him "who keeps a dead tree?", and this apparently inspires him to return to the Wallace protein farm, whereupon he discovers the date etched into the now buried root of the dead tree. At the police "deenabase", K discovers the false record of one of the twins. A.I. Joi ( de Armas) asks the question, "Who keeps the records?"(of the orphans) and after he plays with his you horse a bit, "who makes the memories?" This inspires K to take Joi on a trip to the orphanage to attempt to dig up the records, which have apparently already been stolen by Luv(Hoeks), who got there first and tries to kill?/miss? him with an air-to-ground rocket attack. K shrugs off the attack, and doesn't seem to recognize her role in the rocket attack or show it, anyways. Later, he visits(without Joi) Dr Ann Stelline, who demonstrates her knowledge of the specific memory which he thought was his alone, and gives him the ginormous hint that " every artist leaves a little of themselves in their work." This visit earns him a reprimand by his boss(Robin Wright) as " fucking around outside an upgrade center." Whereupon he shows the results of his rather dull detective work, the baby sock, and photo of the date scribed in the tree bark. |

:Hi Lexein, if you have a thesis, then you'd be better off publishing that on a personal website or a blog, as this sounds like '''[[WP:OR|original research]]''', i.e. your own personal thoughts. Wikipedia's job is to reflect published ideas and opinions by [[WP:RS|reliable sources]] such as published books, journals etc. If your thesis is someone else's work then it would need to be [[WP:CITE|cited]] within the article. Hope that helps. [[User:Cnbrb|Cnbrb]] ([[User talk:Cnbrb#top|talk]]) 09:52, 25 July 2020 (UTC) |

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may '''contest the nomination''' by [[:Category:Banknotes by region|visiting the page]] and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. == Crossrail timeline == |
Hello, we went through a {{diff|Crossrail|988670121|988669082|undo/reinstate edit}} on the Crossrail article. You kindly added a key to the table with a comment suggesting that the ticks and crosses are obvious. They may be to people who read Wikipedia using a visual browser, but for anyone with [[WP:ACCESSIBILITY|visual impairment]] the "status" column in the table is now ambiguous. Using ticks and crosses is reasonable if you can see them, but the template producing them leaves an "alt" field for each image (the text which a screen reader would read out) as ☑ or ☒ (read out as "ballot box with check mark image" and "image" respectively), which have no meaning. I reckon this is unhelpful, and does not conform to [[WP:ACCESSIBILITY#Images|WP's accessibility requirements]] hence my edit to replace these with plain text stating "complete" or "not done", which I guess is the meaning intended. I don't propose to revert your edit again, but it's something to bear in mind for the future, and note that the article as it stands does not follow good practice. [[User:Bazza 7|Bazza]] ([[User talk:Bazza 7|talk]]) 20:28, 14 November 2020 (UTC) |
:Hi {{ping|Bazza 7}} -thanks for the note. I wasn't aware of any previous editing, but I completely agree about the accessibility points you have made. I think part of that might be down to the templates in use, and some improvements may be due there if they are lacking ALT tags in the code. However, with that in mind, I'll have a think about it - give me a couple of days and I'll see if I can come up with a fix, and feel free to remind me if I appear to have forgotten. {{smiley}} (did my smiley have an alt tag?) [[User:Cnbrb|Cnbrb]] ([[User talk:Cnbrb#top|talk]]) 00:55, 15 November 2020 (UTC) |
::Hi {{ping|Bazza 7}} - after some discussion I have persuaded authorised editors to change [[Template:Tick]] so it can now have a customised ALT tag. <nowiki>{{Tick|alt=completed}}</nowiki> now generates {{Tick|alt=completed}}<br/> <code><img alt="completed" src="/upwiki/wikipedia/en/thumb/f/fb/Yes_check.svg/20px-Yes_check.svg.png"></code> |
::However, I see in the meantime you have replaced the ticks with another template. While this works fine, I'm not sure about the coloured backgrounds. I'm not sure they are compatible with [[WP:COLOR]] for colour contrast. [[User:Cnbrb|Cnbrb]] ([[User talk:Cnbrb#top|talk]]) 16:59, 19 November 2020 (UTC) |
