Subject Senator McConnell misinformation.
The entry has Senator McConnell’s father “in the Army” which appears not to be true true. He was never in the Army. He was apparently a civilian employee for the Army at some time during World War II and at some point became an employee of Dupont. That’s according to https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/81719293/addison-mitchell-mcconnell which includes an obituary printed in The Kentucky Post, Covington, October 1, 1990 JosephMChapman (talk) 18:27, 31 August 2023 (UTC)

:A reliable source, the Associated Press, published a 2020 story saying Senator McConnell's father was an Army veteran and was deployed. Suggestion (not an edit request as such). I realize we have WP:WEIGHT, but one paragraph seems light when there were two terms in office in a top-50 city with a major newspaper -- this surely would give us some material for modest expansion there. Shutting the government down if there is not a significant reduction in spending is the only way the Republican Party will survive. Enough is enough

Regarding his health

[edit]

Found this on NYT regarding the two episodes where he froze up, but this is really just hearsay because no official diagnosis was made: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/09/01/health/mitch-mcconnell-health-seizures.html Unknown0124 (talk) 00:00, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 15 September 2023

[edit]

Update his ancient photo to a current frozen one. 2600:1700:5BD0:D4E0:6069:9909:6208:C4CE (talk) 01:17, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Two terms as Jefferson County Judge/Executive

[edit]

Suggestion (not an edit request as such). I realize we have WP:WEIGHT, but one paragraph seems light when there were two terms in office in a top-50 city with a major newspaper -- this surely would give us some material for modest expansion there. Tenure as Senate Minority Leader & Republican Leader

[edit]

I think a few are jumping the gun. McConnell is staying on as Senate Minority Leader & Senate Republican Leader, until at least January 2025. GoodDay (talk) 22:51, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Electoral History

[edit]

The electoral numbers in the Electoral History section are inconsistent. Two totals are shown under the heading "Votes for McConnell, but only two candidates are shown, neither being McConnell. All the vote totals in this chart need to be reviewed. Roark183 (talk) 20:45, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
