Adam Shareef Umar (Dhivehi: އާދަމް ޝަރީފް ޢުމަރު; born 12 December 1964) is a Maldivian politician who is currently the Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works.[3]
Education
[edit]Shareef obtained a master's degree in education from the University of East Anglia.[4]
Career
[edit]He served as Minister of Defense and National Security during the presidency of Abdulla Yameen.[5] Prior to that, he served as the Minister of State for Education from 2014 to 2015.[6]
He was also a Special Envoy of President Yameen.[7]
He was a Member of the 19th Parliament for the Madduvari Constituency.[8] He is also the Deputy Leader of the People's National Congress (PNC).[9]
