I renamed the page to 'Wikipedia:How to rename (move) a page', although normally I would not recommend having two synonyms in a title, it does not look very good. |

When using [[Special:MovePage]], and selecting ''Move associated talk page'' box, the talk page is moved, and a redirect is left on the old talk page title. |

I strongly feel that this function should, instead of a redirect to the new talk page, leave [[Template:Talk page of redirect]]. This would be in addition to [[Template:R from move]] (which it already does). |

However, I don't have any idea if this would be remotely popular, or how I'd propose it, so I'm asking for an admin's opinions. {{small|(please include
<nowiki>{{ping|CityUrbanism}}</nowiki>
in your response)}} – '''[[User:CityUrbanism|CityUrbanism]]''' [[:User talk:CityUrbanism|🗩]] [[:Special:Contributions/CityUrbanism|🖉]] 16:51, 9 April 2023 (UTC) |

== Mass editing backlinks of moved page == |
|||
Hi, |
|||
Recently I moved [[List of highest points in California by county]] to [[List of California county high points]] and I would like to change the dozens of backlinks to this page to reflect the move. In practice I suppose it doesn't matter because the backlinks target the redirect which ultimately lands on the correct page, but the majority of these backlinks are in the "See also" section in plain text and I would prefer they read the correct title. |
|||
Is there an easier way to fix all of these without manually changing everything listed on the "Pages that link here" page? This would take hours for me to do manually and I'd definitely prefer a quicker solution. |

==Curly apostrophe in Behzod Yoʻldoshev== |
|||
The title [[Behzod Yoʻldoshev]] includes a curly apostrophe (otherwise known as the Devil's work). I went to Move it to [[Behzod Yo'ldoshev]], but the system won't let me as it tells me the target name is the same as the source name. It seems to think that curly and straight apostrophes (and presumably quotes) are identical. Yet the straight version still shows up as a redlink. Huh? What manner of devilry is this? |
|||
Can someone please move it, but also do whatever it takes to fix the system so that, at least in titles of articles, curly and straight quotes are differentiated? Moving talk pages
[edit]This request for help from administrators has been answered. If you need more help or have additional questions, please reapply the {{admin help}} template, or contact the responding user(s) directly on their own user talk page. |
When using Special:MovePage, and selecting Move associated talk page box, the talk page is moved, and a redirect is left on the old talk page title.

Mass editing backlinks of moved page
[edit]Hi,
Recently I moved List of highest points in California by county to List of California county high points and I would like to change the dozens of backlinks to this page to reflect the move. In practice I suppose it doesn't matter because the backlinks target the redirect which ultimately lands on the correct page, but the majority of these backlinks are in the "See also" section in plain text and I would prefer they read the correct title.
Is there an easier way to fix all of these without manually changing everything listed on the "Pages that link here" page? This would take hours for me to do manually and I'd definitely prefer a quicker solution.
Thanks! Pugchump (talk) 19:56, 21 May 2024 (UTC)

Curly apostrophe in Behzod Yoʻldoshev
[edit]The title Behzod Yoʻldoshev includes a curly apostrophe (otherwise known as the Devil's work). I went to Move it to Behzod Yo'ldoshev, but the system won't let me as it tells me the target name is the same as the source name. It seems to think that curly and straight apostrophes (and presumably quotes) are identical. Yet the straight version still shows up as a redlink. Huh? What manner of devilry is this?
Can someone please move it, but also do whatever it takes to fix the system so that, at least in titles of articles, curly and straight quotes are differentiated? Thanks -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 06:04, 30 August 2024 (UTC)

Marked as minor
[edit]Why are page moves marked as minor edits? I would think that changing the article's name would be a very significant edit if anything. Dreykop (talk) 06:19, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
