I agree it should be merged. It just makes sense. After all, PNC Bank is the flagship subsidiary of the PNC Financial Services and the PNC Bank article contains history of PNC as a whole where as the PNC Financial Services article only discuses it's ranking in services. <small><span class="autosigned">—Preceding unsigned comment added by Robguru (talk • contribs) </span></small><!-- Template:Unsigned -->
:PNC is in our small town (Vineland) in southern NJ. The bank's two branches are chronically understaffed; complaints to the management in the local branches has fallen on deaf ears. Putting up with sub-par service seems to be taken for granted by most customers; lines are long for the drive-thru and in the lobby. Today, while a teller tried to run both the drive-thru window and the inside counter. Mr. Stephen Gish, a PNC Investments Sr. Financial Consultant, was at a desk in the lobby, chatting on the phone and when asked about the under-staffing admitted to knowing that "Luis" (a former teller) had recently graduated and taken an accounting job within PNC. So PNC knew they were going to be short-staffed, yet didn't respond quickly to the pending graduation and promotion of Luis. And when I complained, he told me that I was "barking at the wrong person" and needed to speak to the manager, Chris. I was told that Chris is not there on Tues and Wed. Mr. Gish's attitude seems to reflect the same "it's not my problem" attitude that pervades PNC's southern NJ region. 209.244.189.19 19:57, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
:: Sounds frustrating. However, this is a talk page about the article itself - you may want to post about your experience on a message board online somewhere. This page should only be used to discuss the PNC article, or changes to it. Thanks! NickBurns 19:08, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:PNCbank Logo.gif
:Image:PNCbank Logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.<!-- Template:Missing rationale2 -->BetacommandBot 05:07, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

PNC Logo
Hey, it's been about four years since PNC updated their logo by changing the color of "PNC" to blue and the color of the triangular/circle logo to orange, and there's no update on this? Anyone have a fair-use image of their current logo we could use? Thanks! Jgera5 (talk) 06:44, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

PNC's market ranking
Hey guys, the source that is up that has PNC as the sixth-largest bank in the United States is accurate and the most recent. Although it is within a few million of U.S. Bancorp, "coming close" only counts in horseshoe's and grenades. Unless something changes, PNC is the SIXTH largest bank, and sources are there to prove it. Thanks! Jgera5 (talk) 20:36, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
:I actually haven't been able to get that search form to work. Regardless of computer it says I need cookies enabled. I definately have them enabled. Strange. Either way the question, if I remember right, is how do you define largest bank. Is it by assets or deposits. Because by assets yes US bank has a few million more. But by deposits (which is what I thought most used in this ranking, and the article has...PNC has more). By assets US Bank is 11th largest in the US and PNC 12th last I checked.
:I found some links. http://www.ibanknet.com/scripts/callreports/getbank.aspx?ibnid=usa_817824 according to this as of 5/10 has $186B, US Bank as of 6/10 $183B http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=117565&p=irol-fundbankinghighlightsq Strunke (talk) 00:35, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
::The FDIC site is just ridiculously picky about cookies and making sure you click through their site in the proper order... I'm going to fix up the instructions on the main page and you should be able to access Strunke. But I'm going to wait until tomorrow because the data is coming back oddly right now (late night system updates or stale cookie issues? someone please go WP:TROUT on the programmers there). == lacking NEUTRALITY... reads like an advertisement ==

Hi, I'm not sure how to annotate this correctly, but this article reads like a commercial for this bank. It should be more Neutral Point Of View, eh? <span style="font-size: smaller;" class="autosigned">—Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.114.161.155 (talk) 15:03, 11 April 2011 (UTC)</span><!-- Template:UnsignedIP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->
:How so exactly? You are going to need to provide some examples and alternatives. I see quite a bit of good and bad notes about it and do not believe it is written like an advertisement. Strunke (talk) 18:58, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

PNC footprint map
We should add the former BankAtlantic branches already integrated into the map as well as (in a different color, such as orange like we did with National City Corp.) the RBC branches soon to be added to PNC's footprint. Any thoughts? Jgera5 (talk) 00:52, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
:Well I'm getting there, but I'm having the dual problem of a) not having a computer to compile with, and b) the FDIC website isn't updated yet (is the merger not official yet? because the news sure mare it sound that way), so I have to transfer the branches manually. Magog the Ogre (talk) 05:54, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

:done I've done the BankAtlantic, but I don't want to do the RBC until it's approved by the FDIC and the shareholders of both banks (which it almost certainly will be). Please let me know when that happens, and I'll create yet another PNC map. Magog the Ogre (talk) 03:52, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
::Approval was given by both banks' shareholders. :Merger is finalized, as is the Flagstar branches. Jgera5 (talk) 05:23, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
::I see that the southern RBC Banks are now all replaced with "PNC" signs, so yes the map needs updating! Thanks. MarketDiamond 19:57, 17 March 2012 (UTC)

The Acronym
I think a lot of people would be curious to know where the acronym PNC originated from. I suspect they'll come to wikipedia first, and it seems like the appropriate place for that. <small><span class="autosigned">— Preceding unsigned comment added by Phydroxide (talk • contribs) 15:45, 5 October 2012 (UTC)</span></small><!-- Template:Unsigned --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->
