In November 2022, Kari Skogland signed on to direct a sequel to Wind River (2017), from a screenplay by Patrick Massett and John Zinman, and starring Martin Sensmeier (reprising his role from the first film).[2] In early March 2023, the cast was revealed to comprise Jason Clarke, Scott Eastwood, Chaske Spencer, Gil Birmingham (reprising his role from the first film), Alan Ruck, Kali Reis, and Tatanka Means.[3][4]
