"the Turnip’s escape trajectory is compromised by Buzz" - how?
83 million views
I believe it should be mentioned that at this time, the Lightyear trailer uploaded by the Pixar Youtube channel has 8.3 million views. The 83 million views that is sourced in the Hollywood Deadline article is erroneous. == Orphaned references in :Lightyear (film) ==

I check pages listed in :Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of :Lightyear (film)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

The article says that "the Turnip’s escape trajectory is compromised by Buzz". How, exactly? I didn't see him do anything that doomed the escape flight (though he blames himself for it). - Brian Kendig (talk) 22:14, 28 August 2022 (UTC)

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 23:47, 8 November 2021 (UTC)

I noticed the edit warring over including this category. There is a lesbian couple in the film: Alisha Hawthorne and Kiko. Plot - new fuel crystal?

[edit]

"With a new fuel crystal created using the computer left behind during the mutiny..." Is there a source for this? You never see a replacement new crystal, and the computer is damaged during the mutiny ("The formula!" gasps Sox. Of course there should be backups and Sox himself should remember it, but still.) Is there a novelization stating this or something? RevWaldo (talk) 05:34, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I noticed the edit warring over including this category. There is a lesbian couple in the film: Alisha Hawthorne and Kiko. Their kiss is the first same-sex kiss shown in a Pixar feature: "‘Lightyear’ same-sex couple is part of an evolution at Pixar" (The Washington Post, June 17, 2022). The inclusion of lesbian characters resulted in the film being banned in 14 countries: "Pixar’s Lightyear banned in 14 countries over same-sex kiss" (The Independent, 14 June 2022) + "Lightyear’s same-sex kiss – the controversy that led to Disney’s first ‘real’ LGBTQ+ representation" (The Conversation, June 16, 2022). And don't forget: Commander Hawthorne is a significant character and Lightyear's best friend. Pyxis Solitary (yak yak). Ol' homo. 05:01, 6 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
