Its [[MLA]] is [[Judith Reid]], a former businesswoman. She was first elected in a 1998 [[by-election]] to represent the riding of Parksville-Qualicum and was re-elected in 2001 in the Nanaimo-Parksville riding. She represents the [[British Columbia Liberal Party]]. Ms. Reid has previously served as Minister of Transportation. She is not seeking re-election in the [[British Columbia general election, 2005|B.C. General Election 2005]].
