Running from October 1 to 31, 2024, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme '''Around the World in 31 Days'''! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least '''31 countries''' (or broader international articles) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.

The 13th of September marked the anniversary of the sacrifice of the 6 niños héroes, which are revered in México and have many streets, neighbourhoods and public spaces named after them.

However, on English wikipedia, there is no individual articles on their lives and sacrifices.

To remedy that I have begun creating articles ([[Juan de la Barrera]]).
There is an ongoing discussion on the article's talk page concerning a statistic claiming that 47% of Mexicans have light skin (this is the actual document that have this reference [http://www.conapred.org.mx/userfiles/files/Enadis-2010-RG-Accss-002.pdf a Encuesta Nacional sobre Discriminación en México 2010]. Upon closer examination, it appears that the source cited for this statistic does not explicitly state this percentage. A user claims that in the page 7 said this , but Instead, it mentions that 54% of women and 40% of men self-identify as having the three lightest skin tones on a scale of 9. (you can find this values in this source [http://www.conapred.org.mx/userfiles/files/Enadis-2010-RG-Accss-002.pdf Enadis-2010-RG-Accss-002.pdf (conapred.org.mx)] page 40 and 41). The claim about 47% seems to be derived from a simple average of these percentages, which may not accurately represent the data. In addition to not correctly specifying the number of people, this user indicates that 47% of Mexicans are light-skinned instead of indicating that "they choose the 3 lightest tones of a scale of 9 colors), and in the development of the article indicates that up to 47% of Mexicans are white, because according to him, having a European phenotype is synonymous with being white. No academic publication supports this.

I would appreciate any and all help making more articles and making the articles better! Thank you

I have nominated [[LGBT culture in Puerto Vallarta]] for Good article status. If promoted, this would be Wikipedia's first Good article about LGBT culture in a specific locale, as for as I know. I have addressed concerns from the first nomination and made other improvements. I invite project members to offer feedback, make improvements, or pick up the nomination, if interested. Notice

The article Estadio General Joaquín Amaro has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreferenced and unimproved almost 15 years. Orphan at least 3 years. Run of the mill venue. Not enough information to merge.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
