Do Yoon and his supporters deny the "K-Trumpism" label? Not familiar with South Korean politics at all, but I feel like they'd actually embrace it (especially since Yoon seems to be buddies with Trump. They went golfing together a week after Trump's election victory). This should probably be reworded to make it clear that they likely have different reactions to the labels "K-Trumpism" and "far-right" (I'm sure they rather resent the latter). :Hi @[[User:Seefooddiet|Seefooddiet]]! I'd be glad to explain the tone tag. I took issue with some of the tone and some of the stylistic choices/grammar mistakes made in the '''Presidency (2022–present)''' section of the article. Some examples include "''He would take office that day.''" (could be woven into the prior sentence), "''Yoon has been accused of exploiting anti-feminist sentiment for political gain. Yoon has claimed that structural sexism no longer exists in South Korea.''" (which could be solidified into one sentence), and "''Therefore, there is criticism directed at both the regime of South Korea and the regime of North Korea that the Korean Peninsula is facing the greatest war crisis since the Korean War.''", which seems like a clunky transition in from the prior sentence. Overall the article is fine, which is why tone tags are yellow tags and not orange tags. I appreciate you looking for an explanation. Cheers, ''atque supra''! Lead missing info
[edit]The lead is missing a lot of info about his administration. In particular, it doesn't adequately convey the sheer scale of the controversies surrounding his presidential race and administration. toobigtokale (talk) 11:34, 27 September 2023 (UTC)
- Issue still stands nearly four months later. toobigtokale (talk) 08:23, 13 January 2024 (UTC)
- If one were to accurately convey the amount of controversies around his admin, I reckon it'd need a separate article on it. I can think of, for instance, his sudden move to Yongsan, long-term allegations that he's affected by shamanism(it is kind of covered in the article, but not really as it only is listed during his presidential campaign), criticism that he's been too controlling of the PPP, his slashing of the R&D budget, hiring far-right Youtubers to the President's Office, the Dior bag scandal, his announcement about possible oil reserves in Yeong-il bay, reaction to flooding...like regardless of whether you dis/agree with these, there are legitimately too many of them to be listed in this article. --조지토머스 (talk) 11:24, 28 June 2024 (UTC)
- That's normal. What we should do is start listing them here, then if the article gets too big we decide if we want to WP:SIZESPLIT. Once a split happens, then we keep an overview of the controversies on this page, per WP:SUMMARY.
- The article is missing an unacceptably large amount about Yoon. His presidency is viewed wildly differently in South Korea compared to how this article describes it. 211.36.142.178 (talk) 07:56, 3 July 2024 (UTC)

- Managed to expand the lead with some more info, far too late. These issues have been known with Yoon since even before his election, and we've only gotten it into the lead just now. seefooddiet (talk) 14:12, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
Recent IP contribution
[edit]I appreciate the effort to tone down the POV, but there's still so many other issues with POV, grammar, and formatting that it would be too difficult to fix. Basically every sentence has grammar issues.
Please read these links carefully: MOS:REPEATLINK and MOS:HEADINGLINK. You fixed the tilde issues, but not these.
References are also formatted incorrectly; please look at the formatting of other references on this page and follow that. You shouldn't be putting the names of publications in "editor="; you should be putting them in something like "publication=" or "newspaper=".
All of this writing is too POV to be acceptable:
There was a flood criticism against the government
creating a situation reminiscent of a one-man dictatorship
There is criticised that a person with anti-human rights tendencies was appointed to the position of chairman of the National Human Rights Commission of Korea.
(this is presented without context; it's too vague of a criticism)The corruption controversy related to First Lady Kim Keon-hee has emerged as a serious problem.
"Corruption controversy" is phrased to be too certain; the corruption is alleged, not definite. At the end of September, the Democratic Party of Korea, the main opposition party, launched an all-out offensive against various suspicions against First Lady Kim Keon-hee.
"all-out offensive" is unnecessarily flowery."The president and his wife are making South Korea a living hell."
anyone can say anything like this; it's not always worth including in Wikipedia articles.Especially, there was sharp criticism, saying, "Is the position of president easy?"
As above; these types of jabs can be said by anyone, they're not necessarily that informative and worth putting in Wikipedia articles.
That said, I think you are covering important topics that aren't yet covered in the article. It's just that there are too many issues with the writing for it to be productive in the article I think. seefooddiet (talk) 07:27, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- I understand. I will be more careful from now on. 61.84.41.9 (talk) 13:28, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for being receptive. Fyi, we both dislike Yoon, but more importantly I think this article is missing appropriate WP:WEIGHT on these topics you want to cover. Just please try to be cautious about POV in particular; if our writing sounds biased it hurts our credibility.
- If you make smaller contributions, I can edit the grammar. Large contributions are hard to fix though. seefooddiet (talk) 22:54, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- I just reviewed your recent contributions. The section about the protest I deleted; it's too minor of a scandal for this article, and it's not necessarily something that Yoon was directly involved in. I did keep the democratic backsliding section, but I adjusted the prose and presentation.
- There's still some issues where the writing read a little biased, but it's better than before. If you spot any issues with my adjustments feel free to adjust seefooddiet (talk) 10:18, 13 November 2024 (UTC)
