I'm not sure why there isn't a legacy section here. A bunch of ridiculous leftist authors get legacy sections yet unarguably one of the five most important men in American football history doesn't? Like John Madden, Walsh lent his name to early EA Sports video games

There were two under the "Bill Walsh College Football" franchise: Bill Walsh College Football (1993) and Bill Walsh College Football 95 (1994). These games were the parents of the current NCAA Football series which continues this year with NCAA Football 08. At the time, EA couldn't get the licensing for the real NCAA teams (the first version had teams named after their city and colors that matched the team) --however they did secure the Bill Walsh name. This was meant to echo the Madden NFL series which was started a few years earlier. Something about this ought to be added. --Bobak 21:57, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Bill Walsh

There is one error that I know of personally in the article about Bill Walsh. I played football in high school with Bill Walsh. He was older and on the varsity whereas I was Jr. Varsity. When the JVs scrimmaged the varsity he was right across the line from me. I can refer you to at least one other player whom I know is still living and can verify that we, including Bill Walsh, went to Hayward Union High School in Hayward CA. I went from high school up to WSU to play ball, but had to drop out and come back to CA and I ended up once again in the same school, San Jose State, as Bill Walsh.KWR 23:59, 9 August 2007 (UTC) The article mentions Bill going to an Illinois High School and coached by the famed legend Dan Rourke. The following is directly from your page on that high school and that coach - " Glenwood's sport scene is dominated by the football season. The team has been coached by Dan Rourke since 1993." Coaching Tree

I would vote that Marvin Lewis (Cin. Bengals HC) belongs under Brian Billick in the coaching tree. He was Billick's DC on the first Ravens SB team. He was Billick's DC when Lewis got the HC job in Cincinnati. I would also put Rex Ryan under Brian Billick, but would also agree that might be a stretch. Rex traces his style and philosophy back to his dad, Buddy Ryan. I agree, Gruden and his disciples should be under Holmgren. Also, I don't think defensive coordinators who became head coaches should be in the tree. They didn't learn the system and didn't teach the system to the offense. They might have hired someone versed in the WCO as the OC, but that doesn't make them a disciple of Walsh. One could argue that Mike McCoy should be added to his coaching tree under George Seifert, as McCoy's first assistant job was under Seifert's limited time in Carolina. ^_^ ^_^ (talk) 04:08, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
