Thanks to its many contributors, including in particular Jesswade88 and David Eppstein, WikiProject Women scientists has just reached the important milestone of 25,000 articles. ==Draft article== |

I recently moved a section from Crystallography#Contribution of women to X-ray crystallography to X-ray crystallography#Contribution of women to X-ray crystallography. Additions/edits welcome, particularly as both pages are really short on sources in this and many other areas. (I am slowly trying to repair them.) I have nominated Emmy Noether for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets the featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Delist" in regards to the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here.<!--Template:FARMessage--> Z1720 (talk) 20:31, 15 January 2024 (UTC) |

Hello friends, if you follow Wikiproject Women in Red you might have seen that the proportion of women's biographies on English Wikipedia just tipped over 20% and it's a fatastic achievement for everyone!!! I'd like to do a post on Diff (the Wikimedia Foundation's blog) about it and would love to add perspectives from this project (as well as others) - a draft is here, please please add to it. If you can edit it before, I'm hoping to post something 18:00 UTC on 21 Dec Lajmmoore (talk) 14:50, 20 December 2024 (UTC) |

Female scientists from third world countries
[edit]Jimbo likes the idea of paying editors to write about female scientists from third world countries.[1]

Wiki Women in Red - a proposed User Group
[edit]Having worked for 2 years editing articles for Women In Red, a group of organizers have concluded that sourcing is one of the biggest hurdles in creating articles on women and non-binary genders. Though it is true that a lot of sourcing simply doesn’t exist, it is also true that there are sources, but we have no access to them. As these groups did not typically become subjects for academic study until the 1970s, many of the sources are not on line or are behind paywalls. Failure to include women and non-binary people in the encyclopedia presents a one-dimensional view of society and history. To address those issues, we are forming a new User Group aimed at referencing and support for like-minded groups and would appreciate your input or input from your supporters in our organizational process.
