In 2015, Redlands East Valley High School 2014 varsity cheerleaders were criticized for dressing up in costume gang attire with fake weaponry inside the school's gymnasium. The photo showed the High School students dressed in baggy jeans, heavy makeup and throwing gang signs. Two of the participants stuffed their shirts to depict pregnancy. In 2020, Redlands East Valley High School received severe backlash after a video of one of their students stretching their eyes in mockery of an asian-american woman circulated throughout the social-media platform, TikTok. No official response was released by the school district regarding the incident. Principal Robert Clarey refused to acknowledge the incident and deemed it happened "outside of school grounds" so he will not take further action.

Redlands East Valley High School is a public English medium co-educational high school in Redlands, California, United States, near the San Bernardino Mountains. The school opened in the 1997-1998 school year as part of the Redlands Unified School District.

Redlands East Valley is a 264,000-square-foot (24,500 m2) comprehensive high school located on a 57-acre (230,000 m2) sloping site, designed to house 2,500 students.
