Late Shri [[Biren Roy]], had a keen desire of starting an [[English medium|English Medium]] at Rishi Bankim Chandra Road in Behala. That could be administered be any organization. Keeping this in mind he donated a four storied building to the [[Archdiocese of Calcutta]]. In May 1991, with the invitation of [[Archbishop Emeritus]] Henry D'Souza, then [[Archbishop of Calcutta]], the Sisters of Little Flower of Bethany came to oversee the school. In June 1991, Meghmala Roy Education Centre was officially inaugurated, and Sr. Hildegard BS, became the first Headmistress. As per the wish of Shri Biren Roy, the school was named after his wife. It is a Catholic Institution established under the rights and powers granted to religious and linguistic minorities by the [[Constitution of India]] (Art 29 & 30).
