Ecology
Quaggoths are sometimes enslaved by other races, notably drow. A quaggoth that suffers an injury flies into a violent berserker rage.

Environment
Quaggoths usually live in underground lairs.

Typical physical characteristics
Quaggoths are about seven feet tall and covered in shaggy white hair, though brown-haired quaggoths are sometimes seen.

Alignment
Quaggoths are usually neutral in alignment. Some editions describe the Quaggoths as being evil-aligned.

Society
Quaggoths are savage, bestial hunters who live in nomadic tribes. They live in very primitive conditions, and consider any form of weapon, tool or technology as "magic." Some Quaggoth tribes shun all weapons and armor as cursed, while others follow the "way of magic" and employ weapons scavenged from fallen foes.

Quaggoths in Greyhawk
In the World of Greyhawk campaign setting, quaggoths live in cold regions above ground. They are most commonly found in the Forlorn Forest, but have also been encountered in Blackmoor, the Burneal Forest, the Cold Marshes, the Hraak Forest, and the lands of the Tiger and Wolf Nomads. In ancient times, the quaggoths were far more numerous, but thousands were slain by elves in the War of Extermination.

The most notable quaggoth in the Flanaess is Shag Solomon, a "civilized" quaggoth who plays a minor role in the Age of Worms adventure path.

Quaggoths in the Forgotten Realms
Quaggoths are portrayed as being frequently enslaved by the drow and duergar of the Underdark, although it is noted in Underdark that they once had an underground kingdom called Ursadunthar, deep beneath the Spine of the World, until it fell to Duergar from Gracklstugh in -1350 DR.

Quaggoth slaves appear in the book Daughter of the Drow written by Elaine Cunningham.
