-The word "year" as it has been used by humans for thousands of years, has always referred to the tropical year. As such the introduction is making a clear mistake when stating that it refers to the orbital period. Instead it should make it clear that a "year" only approximately is based on the orbital period given how this will tend to dwarf the precession rate. The section with astronomical definitions is all well and good, but doesn't excuse the intro.
