UPC Netherlands operates in the Dutch marked since 1998. It came to marked on an aggressive manner by rapidly buying up local cable companies and offering connections below the [[cost price]], a common practice during the internet hype. This went at the expense of service and reliability. Nowadays UPC seems to have learned its lessons from the past, in 2006 UPC Netherlands won the Golden Contact Center Award for best costumer service in the Netherlands.
