Heatherlands First School is a mixed school for 4-8 year olds in Parkstone, Poole, Dorset. The school has 343 children in 3 classes per year.

Most of the children come from the Upper Parkstone area of Poole in Dorset which is primarily a residential suburb.

The school was built in 1964 as the infants, the original Heatherlands School was built in 1880 and then became the juniors. In the 1970s schools in Poole went 3 tier with first schools for 4-8 year olds, middle schools for 8-12 year olds and the secondary school and 12. Heatherlands had two extra classrooms built for the extra year. In 1993 the caretaker's bungalow became comverted into classrooms for the reception chilren (4 year olds) and the school also had a number of huts. Recent years have seen some other modernisation to the school such as a safe carpark kept away from the playground and picnic areas.

Middle schools
Originally the local middle school was Heatherlands Middle School along Cromwell Road although this being the original Victorian buildings was closed in 1983 and children went onto either Branksome Heath Middle School or Alderney Middle School which is now Manorside Combined School. Heatherlands forms part of the 'Rossmore pyramid' of schools with 6 other first, middle and combined schools with Rossmore Community College being at the top.
