* Great idea and great tool. Nice way to organize and manage the infos. Though not very user-friendly and the learning curve quite long (too many infos to read in the Help sections, takes too long). I still have to understand how to deal with the Talk stuff, the copyrights params and many other ways to format. I find the server very slow and editing the wikipedia can take a lot of time.<br/>[[User:Chris Azoeuf|Chris]] 11:18, 15 August 2005 (UTC)

Me in 2008

Hello ! My name is Chris Azoeuf or Christian Azoeuf.

I'm newbie at Wikipedia so bear with my small experience and my lack of correct procedures.
I started contributions to the Wikipedia with some articles about Punk rock in Belgium in the late 70's, as it was a hell of a (good) time for me.

But, as I'm interested in so many things, I could bring a little something in some other domains in this wikistuff...

Although I'm a native French-speaking person, I prefer to use English in this Internet environment just because English is much more commonly spoken/read/written and I'm quite comfortable with it.

Cheers

Short CV

[edit]

Born in 1959 in Namur, capital of Wallonia, Belgium.
I'm been living in Brussels since 1988.

I've done lots of things in my life. After studying photography, I worked in a factory, in TV and radio stations, in sound recording studios, in sound for theater shows and rock concerts, in a youth hostel, as a bartender, as express courier, in the import/export business, in a 3*** hotel, in a flathotel, in the Internet industry and back to the flathotel/aparthotel industry.

In the middle of all this, in 1987-1988, I traveled for a year throughout Canada and the US and it was very intense! I have been traveling a lot in the US before and after that and I have a real passion for the States in many regards. Don't misread me: my USA is the other half that voted against the Bush administration...

I started to create websites in 1995 when the Internet was still young in Belgium. In 1999 I made Web development and Web design my main job. Since then, I created dozens of websites, most of them are built dynamic and are fed from databases (MS SQL Server and MS Access), along with the help of my favorite scripting language since 1998 which is been Macromedia ColdFusion which is a great language for fast advanced coding and is so flexible.

Music

[edit]

I'm very eclectic in my musical tastes. I first hit the rock'n'roll craze when I was 11 years old with Eloise from Barry Ryan. Then followed chronologically (just quoting a few): The Beatles with the White Album, the Glam rock wave, hard rock (Alice Cooper, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, etc.), Progressive rock, Woodstock, flower power, country music, protest song, Folk-rock, country, Bluegrass, Free jazz, jazz rock/Jazz fusion, reggae, punk rock, ska, Power pop, rockabilly, Salsa, Brazilian jazz, Latin jazz, etc.

My favorite of all and forever: The Ramones!

I can't stand rap music, Disco neither Blues.

I formed my first punk rock band in 1977 named The Razors (lead vocals). Then followed in 1979 Acné Juvénile (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), then The Charts (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), then Index (backup vocals and rhythm guitar) then a last band for which I don't recall the name (...) (lead vocals and bass guitar). I stopped making music around 1983-84 and now, I can't hardly play a few basic chords on my accoustic guitar... and, just don't mention singing...

My thoughts about Wikipedia

[edit]
  • Great idea and great tool. Nice way to organize and manage the infos. Though not very user-friendly and the learning curve quite long (too many infos to read in the Help sections, takes too long). I still have to understand how to deal with the Talk stuff, the copyrights params and many other ways to format. I find the server very slow and editing the wikipedia can take a lot of time.

  • I'll look for a wiki for ColdFusion though I could set up MediaWiki on my web server as a php app side by side with my CF server. But as I'm better with CF than with PHP and I always improve the code to suit my needs, I'd prefer a full CF app.
