'''Margaret Mead Junior High''' is a two year junior high school located in [[Elk Grove Village, Illinois]], a northwest suburb of [[Chicago]]. It is part of School District 54 which includes 4 other junior high and many elementary schools. Students from Mead Junior High mostly advance to [[James B. Conant High School|James B. Conant High School]] in [Schaumburg, Illinois|Schaumburg]], but some may also go to [[William Fremd High School|William Fremd High School]], [[Schaumburg High School]], or others. The colors for Mead are green, black, and white, and the mascot is mikey the[[mustang (horse)|mustang]]. They house the district's [[magnet school|magnet program]] with classes in [[social studies]], [[language arts]], and [[science]]. The magnet program starts in 3rd grade (at Campanelli Elementary), but students may enter at any time within the 3rd-8th school years. Mead also has a discovery program in which the top few percent of kids not in magnet still receive higher education.

As for athletics, both the wrestling and volleyball teams won championships during the 2007-2008 school year. The 7th grade boys basketball team won the District 54 Tournament in the 08-09 school year The 8th grade team from 09-10 lead the conference with a perfect record. The 2009 7th grade girls basketball team were not only conference champions, but they also won the District 54 Tournament and suffered their only loss of the year while placing 3rd in the District 15 tournament. In the 2009-2010 year, the 8th grade Cross Country team won the dual meet season undefeated for the first time in 30 years. 2010-2011 school year, the 7th grade girls and boys won the district 54 tournament with a flawless season.

They have many classes from electives. Which include Spanish, band & orchestra, life skills, music, art and many more. There are also a very large amount of afterschool clubs to join. There is newspaper, bocce ball, student council, art club, drama club,yearbook club, science olympiad , running club , and various other clubs and activities for you to participate in.
