"McDuck Takes a Dive" is a one-page funny animal comic book gag story written and drawn by Carl Barks. It was lettered by Barks' wife, Garé Barks. It was first published by Dell Publishing on the inside back cover of Uncle Scrooge #5 (March-May 1954). Characters in the story are Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck.

Plot
Scrooge and Donald Duck are on a cruise ship watching native boys dive into the sea after tossed pennies. Scrooge remarks upon the dangers that could kill the boys. Suddenly, he plunges into the sea when a dime is tossed. He later explains to Donald that a dime is worth risking one's life for.
