Intro

Unosquare LLC is a US based company that provides IT staffing, software development, application support, and software testing services from Latin America. The company has two engineering centers in the heart of Guadalajara, Mexico and a new facility in Leon, Guanajuato. Unosquare is owned by Mario DiVece and Michael Barrett.

History

The company was founded in early 2009 by DiVece, Juan Roman Escamilla, and Barrett after the three owners left a similar nearshore company to start their own business. Started with revenue from two initial clients the company grew quickly and added 4 more customers in their first year. Clients include MedAssets, Integrity Media, Columbia Sportswear, Microsoft, and Vesta Corporation.

On May 24th, 2010, the company President, Juan Roman Escamilla, was a featured presenter in Mexico City where he showcased an innovative solution, called Study Reminder, for gaming and mobility device development that uses the Microsoft cloud solution Azure. Escamilla was introduced by Steve Ballmer following Ballmer's keynote address and he co-presented with Juan Alberto Gonzalez of Microsoft.

In April 2011 the company published a book entitled "Nearshoring to Latin America" written by Barrett. The book was first released as a prepublished review copy at the Nearshore Nexus conference and later made available as an eBook on Amazon.com and other eBook distributors. An updated version of the book is still avialable via Amazon.com and the iTunes store.

Escamilla left the company in early 2012 after Barrett and DiVece purchased his share of the company. The company is focused on providing Nearshore development services in Java, .Net, Open Source, software testing services, and Mobile development.

The company is headquartered in West Linn, Oregon and has sales offices in Cambridge, Mass and San Diego, California.
