The assertion that the criticism of Silent Spring comes from solely from conservatives amounts to an ad hominem attack. Conservatives is not an accurate description of the entire population who criticize it. I changed it specifically because not everyone who criticizes it is conservative. The discussion section makes that abundantly clear. There are certainly libertarians, for example, who criticize it, but basically, most people who are not leftists have issues with it (notice how I did not use that POV, which would be just as much an ad hominem attack as yours.) Why can you not understand this? The rest of the section makes it clear, specifically when it lists a group of the critics, that you can identify conservatives who criticize it, if you wish to label those specific people. That was left, and that should be good enough. 206.124.6.222 (talk) 17:52, 20 February 2010 (UTC) |

I've altered it so that it mentions conservatives at the top as you feel important, but also pointed out that conservatives are not the only critics. I hope this satisfies your needs. I'm attempting to improve the article and hopefully bring it to FA status at one point. Any help is appreciated. I have recently taken a lot of material from the Rachel Carson article and inserted it into the Silent Spring article to use as a starting point. --Harizotoh9 (talk) 07:46, 18 March 2014 (UTC) |

BTW, I spent 40 minutes thoughtfully proofreading and adding three separate edits, each with specific comments. With one fell swoop, you removed all three with a scant and incomplete comment. I would like to suggest more consideration in the future. 206.124.6.222 (talk) 18:25, 20 February 2010 (UTC) |

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
