A resident of [[Fargo, North Dakota]], Mathson won the [[Miss North Dakota USA]] 2007 title in a state pageant held in November 2006. She had previously placed first runner-up in the [[Miss Minnesota]] 2005 pageant and fourth runner-up in the 2001 event.

Mathson will represent North Dakota in the [[Miss USA 2007]] pageant to be held in the spring of 2007 at an as-yest unannounced location, where she will attempt to be the first delegate from the state to place since 1996. Her "sister" titleholder, [[Miss North Dakota Teen USA]] 2007, is [[Taylor Kearns]].

Moore graduated from Lincoln High School in 2001 and studied mass communications at [[Concordia College, Moorhead]] where she graduated cum laude. She later worked for Lutheran Social Services in Minnesota and then moved to Fargo and worked for KVLY.
