Early life and career beginnings

Thaïs was born in San Francisco, California but was raised in both California & Tokyo, Japan. Her mother Teri Suzanne is American of European decent, and her late father Naoyuki Nagasawa was Japanese. [3] [4] While raised in Tokyo, Japan, she worked in the edutainment industry as a studio singer for bilingual multi media products at the age of 5 for Nippon Columbia. [5] Her notable role came when she became the main singer, actress on a popular children's television show Shimajiro. [6]
