I'm a student of pure mathematics, with interests also including sciences and history, who came to wikipedia relatively early from an invitation on the original wiki. For the most part I've been dealing with the protists, which have attracted relatively little attention from other editors. There's a lot to be said about them. If there are places where their treatment is biased, obsolete, idiosyncratic, incomplete, or incorrect, it's probably my fault and you should let me know about it. But for the most part, I like to think the stuff here covers a reasonable amount of ground, and is fairly up-to-date.
I'm a student of pure mathematics with interests in the sciences and history, who came to wikipedia within its first year. Most of my work has been with the protist pages, which they attracted relatively little attention from other editors. Some of the first pictures here were microscopic photographs I'd taken (others can be found here), and I helped develop the Taxobox template that appears on many biology pages. By now I have left these things to other editors and am no longer active here, but I can be reached via the aforementioned link.

Protist pages that have worked out the best so far are the ciliates and some of their subgroups, the actinophryids, Euglenozoa, and dinoflagellates. I've made significant contributions to a number of other pages as well. Mostly I'm interested in freshwater groups, and I encourage you to help out with the others. Thanks to 68.5.87.19 for adding choanoflagellates and 165.21.154.10 for Charales. Other kingdoms have attracted much more interest, but pages like rotifer, roundworm, arthropod, trilobite, ant, water flea, and cypriniform have considerable amounts of my work in them as well. And I've also done some historical stuff, like hoplite, trireme, Thrasybulus, and the like, plus various other random topics. For the most part, these sorts of disciplines are already in capable hands.

As a hobby, I've taken several photos of microscopic organisms, a number of which can be seen on cyaxares.tripod.com. Several of the identifications are uncertain or incomplete (I would love help with them) and the quality does vary somewhat. However, a few are decent enough that I've added them to wikipedia:

This is partly because there is not much that I have seen in the public domain. Please feel free to replace these if you find something better, or conversely, let me know if you think anything else I have taken might be useful. Feedback in general is appreciated.
