A '''microparasite''' is a [[parasite]] that multiplies directly within their host, usually inside host cells. They can complete a full life cycle inside a single host and generally can not be seen with the naked eye. Most are [[viruses]], [[bacteria]] and [[fungi]] with a smaller number being [[protists]].
