Jeremiah, who took his first guitar lesson at the age of twelve, fronted a band called The Cosmic Frogs before joining Mest in 1998, replacing frontman Tony Lovato's brother Steve Lovato. He first played guitar for Mest on the album Mo' Money Mo 40'z, though a few songs still feature Steve Lovato on guitar. Occasionally he took over lead vocals, as featured in the songs Forget You, Richard Marxism, Night Alone, Your Promise, Return to Self-Loathing, Shell of Myself, Kiss Me Kill Me, Cursed, Tonight Will Last Forever, Graveyard and Yesterday. On most tracks though, he sang backing vocals, sometimes alternating parts with Tony (such as in the song Living Dead). He continued to play as lead guitarist for Mest until their break up in 2006.
Jeremiah is a vegetarian and is of Mexican descent.
