If you want to upload a figure from a paper, the figure needs to have been released under a Wikipedia-compatible license by the person who owns the copyright (either the author of the article or the journal publisher). Journals that are licensed under a compatible license (usually CC-by SA, CC-by, or CC-by Attribution) are clearly licensed. |

Using figures
