Today is the day that Turtle is set to get Saigon's record contract with BMG/Sony finalized, except that when he arrives at the BMG Building, Saigon is nowhere to be found and isn't answering his phone. Eric goes to Ari's office to wonder why he hasn't been in touch at all and Vince decides to go to the bookstore. |
After numerous phone calls to Saigon, Turtle and Drama end up going to Saigon's mother's house to see if he's there or if she knows where he is, although Drama checks her phone and notices that the last number was for a hotel, where they go next. |
Meanwhile, Eric and Ari have a standoff about Vince's career with Ari saying not to see him until Vince is serious about working. Eric counters by saying that Vince hates the scripts that he's been sent. Ari then gets two problems off his hands with one swoop by introducing Eric to longtime producer Bob Ryan, who has been trying in vain to get an audience with Ari but has been repeatedly blown off, with Ryan saying he needs a star for a project that he has. |
Vince while shopping meets and goes on an impromptu lunch date with an attractive young woman he meets at the bookstore. After small-talk and taking her dress-shopping, Vince springs for a suite at the Viceroy Hotel so they can have a rendezvous. Later, when he asks if he can see her again, she declines, saying that she's getting married and the only reason she agreed to hook up with him is that Vince was on her "celebrity list" that she and her fiancee deemed allowable to have sex with if ever given the chance. |
After knocking on room doors at random to locate Saigon, they finally locate him at a party that's going on in one of the rooms. When Turtle asks what happened, Saigon reveals that a man that he agreed to have manage him has come back into the picture and that Saigon was going to honor his previous commitment. When Drama balks at the prospect, he is hung over the balcony until Turtle agrees to forfeit his rights to Saigon, although he does get the $40,000 he was going to be entitled to for commission of his record deal. |

Eric after having lunch at Bob Ryan's house sits in waiting as Bob tells Old Hollywood anecdotes. When E asks what the project is, he reveals that he doesn't really have one. Frantically calling Ari to ask for a rescue, he mentions that this is payback for insulting him in his office earlier. However, when coming back from the bathroom, E notices a picture of Ryan and the late Joey Ramone, who Ryan was friends with. At this point, Ryan remembers a script that he has the rights to telling Ramone's life story. Eric, Vince and Ryan come back to Ari's office with the script (titled I Wanna Be Sedated), telling Ari that this is his new project. |

Ari: Conversations usually end after one person calls the other person a douche bag.<br /> |
Lloyd: (to Eric) You called him a douche bag? He doesn't like that<br /> |
Bob Ryan: What if I was to tell you...?<br /> |
Bunky: I didn't know I was gonna get insulted by the dude from "Viking Quest".<br /> |
Drama: [while being hung off a high balcony] You watch "Viking Quest"? |
Bob Ryan: In '68, I locked Dennis Hopper in the bathroom with nothing but a handful of mushrooms and bingo, he came up with "Easy Rider." Unfortunately I couldn't get him out of there for almost a week. |
Bob Ryan: ...Would that be something you'd be interested in?<br /> |
Bob Ryan: Wait until you see my maid Marsha. Quite the stunner. Marlon Brando used to come to the house three times a week just to stick it in her ass. And that was before it was fashionable. |
Bob Ryan: Hey, I got some great home movies. How would you like to see Candice Bergen playing tennis ... in her underwear? Fantastic ass. |
