-She is shown as a girls with long hair, wearing a [[sailor fuku]] which is covered in blood stains and holding a blood stained cloth rag doll, she only appeares for the very first scenes of the film, she is the that years program winner and she is sitting in an army car while reporters crowd around shouting details of the battle which has just finished and she looks up and smiles insanely.

-Mai is based on a girl from the novel which [[Shuya Nanahara]] accidently sees on TV who is in exactly the same position as Mai and when Shuya see's this update it is the first time he learns about the program, the same scene in which Shuya sees the girl Mai is based on also is shown during the first few pages of the first volume of the [[Manga]] series.

-Mai reappeares in the film [[Battle Royale II]] and is now a member of the terrorist organisation Wild seven and does also not play much part in the film only apperaing in a breif scene to give another insane and sadistic smile and then later in the last stand battle when the army are invading the terrorist base she throws her bloodstined doll (which she still has at least 4 years after she is seen at the beginning of the first film)that contains and explosive device and as the soldiers don't know this they ignor it and explodes in there faces a few seconds later.
