spoiler |

As the DBZ movies are not canon, Turres is not a canon character. He was created by Toei Animation exclusively for the purpose of showing sort of a "what if..." version of Goku . As many fans of the manga and anime know, Goku is a member of an alien race known as the Saiyans named Kakarotto. He was sent to Earth to destroy it, as the Saiyans worked for the maniacal warlord Freeza, wiping out populations of planets and selling them. Shortly after Goku landed on Earth, he hit his head, erasing all memories he had of being sent to the planet. At the same time, it gave him a pure heart. |
However, Turres, who looks very much like Goku, represents what Goku could have become if he had not lost his memory. His personality is best mirrored to Goku's own brother, Raditz. Turres is evil, ruthless, and will stop at nothing to get what he desires. Although it is claimed that Turres is actually Goku's long-lost twin brother, nothing is actually stated in the movie or Daizenshuu, so at this point it is nothing more than fan speculation. His resemblance to the anime's protagonist is likely only made to draw the parallel. |
His name pun is highly debated. It was thought for a while that it is based on "turnip", though a different Romanization of his name "Tullece", would be similar to the Japanese pronounciation of "lettuce". |

===Dragon Ball Z Movie 3: Super Deciding Battle for the Planet Earth/Tree of Might=== |

The seed of the Senseiju Tree (Tree of Might) has come into possession of the Saiyan Turres. When the tree is planted, it saps the energy of the world in which the tree has taken root. Therefore, he seeks out a planet that he would be able to plant the seed on, so he can eat the God's Fruit (Energetic Fruit in the dub), and become exponentially stronger than before, perhaps even stronger than the oppressive Freeza. With him, he has gathered a medley of ragtag thugs, all of whom are quite strong, but compared to some of the villains in this show's history, are quite weak. None of them are truly granted personalities, so they seem expendable. |
*Daizu - He seems to be Turres' second command, and is very similar to Rekuumu with a ponytail. |
*Legacy - A short, tiny purple alien. His twin brother is Raisin |
*Raisin - The other purple midget on Turres' crew. |
*Kakao - A cyborg with bloodred flesh. |
*Almon - A tall, muscular fellow who is similar in appearance to Bora. |
Well, since this tree is tampering with Earth's ecosystem and endangering all of life as we know it, it's up to Goku and his buddies to defeat him. Now, as I said before, Turres' minions are actually quite strong, and end up beating Goku's friends something fierce. However, Goku takes them all out after performing the Kaio-ken technique. Easy win, right? Not when Turres is left. Turres uses a special technique (more on that later) to turn Goku's son, Gohan, into a raging beast known as an Oozaru (all Saiyans with tails can become Oozaru when given the right conditions). After Gohan is restored to normal, Goku takes to fighting Turres himself, and is having a rather tough time at facing his nemesis. With the help of the Kaio-ken, Goku manages to even the odds, until Turres eats the God's Fruit. Turres' strength is dramatically increased, and once again, Goku is on the unfavorable side of this battle. Goku can only defeat Turres with the Genki Dama, or Spirit Ball (known as the Spirit Bomb in the dub). The massive ball of energy sends Turres to his grave, hopefully never to be seen or heard from again. |

===Dragon Ball Z Gaiden: Plan to Destroy the Saiyans=== |
In this game, which uses a new storyline and animation from Toei, the Tsufurujin (Tuffle) Dr. Raichi, who wants revenge on the Saiyans for overthrowing his race sends out the ghosts of several DBZ villains - Freeza, Coola, Lord Slug, and Turres - out to destroy the Saiyans. Turres seems to have retained the powerup from the God's Fruit, although Goku and his comrades are much, much stronger than when they had last faced these foes. They prove to be nothing more than a nuisance and a distraction. |
==Other appearances== |
Thus far, Turres has not appeared in any other parts of the anime, and likewise has not appeared in any video games other than DBZ Gaiden. For a time, it was believed that Bardock's alternate costume would look like Turres in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3, due to the fact that an image of the latter was shown on the i-Guide for Bardock's moves. However, when the game was released, this proved to be untrue. |
==Special techniques== |
<p>Power Ball - A move where a Saiyan creates a ball of energy, which radiates Brute (Blutz) Waves, causing a Saiyan to become an Oozaru. |
<p>Oozaru - Turres does not actually become an Oozaru at all, but he has a tail, which indicates that he is able to become one. |
<p>Ring Attack (Ring of Fire) - Bringing his hands above his head, Turres creates a flaming ring of ki. |
